I would start firstly to find a topic, stats, as you suggest.
If such specific stats are not yet covered on the 1st page of Google then it is the way to go. At the same time, I want to make sure to satisfy the search intent.
And then the rest, meaning to craft an article that is brief, concise, and according to the basic SEO "rules".
So in the end, I should follow pretty much all the points you mention, simultaneously.

Brian, would it be sufficient to target low kd high volume keywords, taking inspiration from the top ranking articles for the keyword making the content then finally optimize with rank math and surfer seo. My concerns are if I should be focusing on creating a topical map instead of just using low kd high volume keywords, unless I can use this to guide my topical map what are your thoughts on this? Another concern I have is how do I implement eeat? And is this a big ranking factor? Should I mention a personal story or can I do it a different way to implement eeat this part I’m having trouble with. Backlinks I can do with outreach but I only want to focus on this after my content is quality.
