Very sorry this happened to you. It does create distrust and an inability to be freely open with people and trust them. I was betrayed at 15 by someone who I thought was a friend...she actually set me up with 2 of her friends to be raped by a guy 22 years old. It destroyed my ability to really trust or make lasting friendships. I'm 68 now, and truly only have 1 person I consider a true and trustworthy friend, aside from my sister. I've known my friend for 32 years and would trust her with my life. Maybe that's why I've surrounded myself with broken, abandoned rescue animals, rather than people. You can care for them and love them back to a normal life, and they never betray you. Bless your heart, Viktor...what you do is difficult enough without the people you've trusted and thought were genuine, caring friends, betraying you.

@@violagentsch I don’t think it matters really what her race is. I think it goes more to the fact that she was just dishonest too you all. That she would even have played with your emotions.
That just one very sick & disrespectful person.
You don’t need people like that in your life. Let alone pretending to be your friend. That not friendship at all.
That taking advantage of all your kindness & love.
So I hope you can remember that simply you all where giving kindness & love. Pick up on the signs earlier next time. Let yourself see the red flags. Run them by others you trust. See if they see the same things. If they do walk away.
There one thing I have learned in life. It that you never let people like this take away the fact that what you did was out love & kindness. It truly is on them, not you. They are the ones that where dishonest. They where the ones that in the end couldn’t see the light of kindness. They where greedy & hurtful. Again that on them.
She manipulative to you all. It unfortunate that she decided to be that person.

Asia had been chained outside for 3 years in New Orleans. When she came to me in Colorado it was noticeable when she walked there was a problem. We have a very well known university who ultimately did 2 tpl surgeries. She was compromised with heartworm. Asia was so sweet like Mary and gentle. I had her for a year but she developed esophageal cancer. After losing her I took a break. Then I got a call to take a pyrenees from Texas. Sophie became mine. She and I are a therapy team who visits elderly, children and many events. So I've taken a break from fostering and again want to thank you for all you do.

This girl was sick. Not from cancer, but sick anyway. You, and the others who tried to help her reacted as real friends. So, don't be sorry. Leave it behind and don't lose faith in people. Sometimes all of us have been betrayed from people we thought they were friends. But there are real friends too. By the way, one has not to try hard to get positive energy from you. We can get it just watching what you do for animals and for human beings every day! Be safe and happy😺💞

Thank you for sharing this story with us. That took a lot of courage. I’m in Iowa US and just got notified that 100 dogs in a puppy mill got rescued and taken in at the ARL. They, of course , didn’t have regular rooms for them so they transformed offices and other rooms into kennels for the dogs. I live in an apartment and have two dogs that I rescued with me. But I’m going to check out the ARL in the morning to see if I can adopt another small dog. It’s only one, but they are asking for help and i cannot give much money because im single, older, and low income too. Maybe I’ll just donate and not bring a dog home if they are all too large for my apartment. I wish I had one of those Tiny Homes so I could do what I want. And I just had my bank account emptied from an ATM that stole my money and turned it into BITCOIN. Im 73 and this has never happened to me before. I live a quiet life and mind my business and don’t know why I came into bad luck lately. But God has blessed my adult children and grandchildren and we all are healthy as healthy goes. So that is the most important thing. God Bless you Victor! I follow you and pray for you. Bless your pets and fill your heart with love 💕 ❤ . It will all work out in the end. You are precious and so is that kitty and your pets including doggie Victor. God tells NOT TO WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW BECAUSE TODAY HAS ENOUGH WORRY OF ITS OWN. I try to do this myself. We’ll take care and keep your heart 💜 open. I care. CONSTANCE J KRING ❤😊

Anytime someone starts a business or an organization, all the people who are allowed in need background checks and even after background checks, certain specific details are not revealed. Monies should not be given out, but only used for the organization that has been established. These things are hard to follow and when it does happen, it’s devastating, but people are heartless and cruel and they can destroy and cause great damage and harm. Thank you for sharing this with us. I was a paediatric nurse many years ago; a paediatrician approached me one morning, saying he believed that the mother of one of our patients was a case of Munchausen by proxy: She was at her little boy’s bedside all day and night, and medicating him to increase his illness. The more ill he was, the more attention she received from nurses and doctors. It had taken the doctor quite a while to figure this out. It was devastating for all concerned. And the results were even more devastating, for the little boy. So I have some idea about what Viktor Larkhill is telling us. He was dealing with an extremely disturbed person, just as we had in the hospital; someone who thought only of herself while damaging everyone else. I am really sad that you and your circle of close friends had to go through all this. I think you learnt a great deal from it, in the way of assessing who is to be trusted and who not. Sad too that one of your cats had to be left at Alex’s house. But - you are a strong person, Mr Larkhill, with many friends and a worldwide network of doing good. Can’t get much better than that! 💕🐾

(They're usually not a "threat' to anyone and wouldn't hurt anyone else, or an animal either for that matter)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's the worst feeling, I know, and sometimes it is really hard to maintain sympathy and empathy after such a betrayal. It takes a lot a strength, but you have it. You are the kind of person who makes up for people like Alex. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this story, Viktor .... After this many years, we can still see the hurt in your eyes when you talk about it. I think it's very therapeutic to let your feelings out, and try to think that just maybe something good came from all this. Of course it certainly makes us more keen to be cautious, and to more easily detect these kind of people in the future. Nevertheless, life can throw you a curve ball once in awhile, so don't beat yourself up about it. You handled it perfectly at the time, imo. Now it's time to let it be, and not cause yourself any more stress. There is always something to be learned from negative experiences like this, and we all pray for you and yours, AND the many animals you help, everyday. God bless you, and keep up your fantastic work. Much love and support from Minnesota ... 🥰🐾🤗

Go on Viktor, we love you. I know you’re not a believer, but I pray (and invite each of your followers over the world to join me) for the Source of the Universe to help you and bring you ideas, through sharing and brainstorming with your friends and teammates for the continuation of so many years of work for the animals on a strong and stable base.
I do believe good ideas and great people devoted to rescuing animals or/ and donators ready to participate with regular donations (a good way to be part of your wonderful team) all that will come to your organization. Just we need to BELIEVE IT, visualize it as much clearly, in details and often as we can. Scientists have discovered and proved now that it’s our mind which creates our reality, not the opposite. The more people we are, holding those thoughts with strength, trust, hope, faith in Life, the more we’ll reach that goal, and you, Viktor, will be able to take care of your health, have time for yourself, letting others “drive the houses” while you enjoy your life. Your kids need you, animals need you, sooo much, you make the world a better place ! People need you cause you give them opportunities to be happy with adopted pets, to be generous, to be driven to become better humans by those beings welcomed, thinking we are their “masters”, when they are the ones coming in our lives to be our teachers of unconditional and true Loves, forgiveness, fidelity and trust.”

Without you where would the animals be? Honestly im getting cynical. I tried volunteering near my city but some of the people there acted weird so i left the shelter. its a no kill shelter but they had me drop off a sick kitten to a vets. i didnt want to know the decision they made for him..my heart was breaking that day.

What a sad story. It's terrible when someone lies like that and takes advantage of a person's kindness. I know from personal experience.

Hello, thank you for the sharing-of this sad storey. The sad thing is you are super sensitive, that is why you do the work with animals, can feel their pain and situation, so that is a great gift you share on this planet. We all love you for that. When humans hurt or deceive it is very powerful and can cause deep wounds. Now try to imagine what a human goes through in many lifetimes to turn into a person that only hurts other humans. This is every persons dilemma on our planet. Some heal quicker than others, and some just stay damaged. It is a hard life for them and they will one day come to terms with their pain. Just know that all the good you have done is never wasted ever.
