To hear the original, alternate lyrics and melodies to songs I know so deeply is a surreal experience. It's like someone's rearranged my brain to believe the versions I'm familiar with...simply never existed.
I’d really love to hear the Hey, Mr. DJ demo digitized if Flans still has the tape, I think I like it even more than the final version, which is already one of my favorite tmbg songs
@@LukeHennisch There’s 2 of them, I assume you’re talking about the first one. In that case, I do agree, there’s just something so weirdly surreal yet satisfying about hearing Pink-era versions of their post-Pink songs
I keep coming back for that Purple Toupee recording. I feel Purple Toupee speaks of a nostalgia for a time that never existed. Missing the time period but forgetting all the bad stuff that actually happened during it (purposefully or not). Combining that message with a version of the song that is horribly garbled by a phone line, with lyrics that are completely different than what I expect, it really creates a version of Purple Toupee that feels three steps removed and alien. Which ironically just enhances the message all the much more. I can't get enough of it.
Thank you for compiling all these demos together, I've never heard the demos for ana Ang or pencil rain before I didn't know what to expect, they're so cool
There is just no currently surfacing demo of it. Same case for every other song not included here (Cage & Aquarium, Piece of Dirt, They’ll Need A Crane, Stand on Your Own Head, Kiss Me Son of God). I’m sure there is a demo of it somewhere that we’ve never heard.

LIE STILL LITTLE BOTTLE IS SO GOOD
it’s odd how often I run into you in comment sections,, you must be stalking me in advance
@@FishVirus we just like the same things I guess,,………….,,.,.
Mr. Me's demo somehow takes a song so comfy and charming as Mr. Me and makes it even more comfy and charming
some of these kinda sound like alternate universe lost media, its kinda neat
I’m honestly hoping that TMBG digitizes the tape with the SB demo and releases it somehow. Maybe an IFC release.

I wonder how many audiophiles get mad over this 40+ years after these recordings were made
i think about these everyday
i think you should start making all your music sound more like the santa’s beard demo
See water spirals the wrong way out the sink after all!
The picture looks like something from an alternate universe
WHERE YPUR EYES DONT GO GOES HARD AF🔥🔥
The demo is actually better :o

I didn't hear I've got a match. Was that a post addon on the Lincoln LP?

there is an alternative version of kiss me son of god on Misc T but I'm not sure if it can be called a demo tbh @@LukeHennisch
HELP ME!
I hope you have Parappa the rapper
the synth on cowtown… so weird to hear it like that, I kinda like it better than the oboe/clarinet they replaced it with
Peter Jackson's AI team should try restoring the Santa's Beard demo :D It'll take em a year
