They're horses, living , breathing, breathtaking creatures (albeit with small brains). But this horse appears quite happy with itself as if saying "I had a blast being a horse! He is PROUD AF of himself. Been in the dirt & mud spa allllll day, every day. He really is quite pleased... And looks healthy and happy,and good hoof/feet care, so there is the real win, you clearly take very good care of your equines. Mad respect for that!
I was thinking the same he looks healthy and his hulfs look good just the wet mud cover. I've seen some pretty neglected horse's before look like they haven't been feed in a long time. I remember during the Obama administration farmer's were letting there horse's roam free because they no longer could care for them it was sad to see the horse's in that state and this was in California south bay tawerds San Jose one of the wealthier parts of California

😂 My mare would come in like that....AFTER spending time trying to get her to just walk through a muddy spot and her refusing....after turnout, I would find that 1ft mud hole would be wallowed out to about 10ft. And her just as happy and relaxed as she could be.🤷🤦🤣

But if a horse is almost always in warmer weather, and there's suddenly cold weather, they aren't used to that climate, so they need a blanket. Maybe don't speak on matters you obviously know nothing about.

Absolutely love it! Her sheer attitude, like well what did u think was gonna happen, where's my dinner mom? I had a balck newfoundland who would find every mud hole and puddle she could find and to the bicycle dance and roll all over. One time it rained so much our fire pit was a small swimming hole with mud and ash. I was outside yelling for her thinking she'd gotten out. All of a sudden, I glance and see white eyes shinning from the fire pit... couldn't even see she was there. It was a cold fall day as well! But she loved it. Seems like this girl loves it too.
Enjoy it!! Every minute of it! My mud hog, is a stunning 16.2 Grey. He’s actually got a white coat, but for those of us that know.. blessed with grey skin over pink. He was a total color change pony as he grew up lol. But he’s an absolute piglet! Maybe not as bad as my sweet Percheron whom I rescued from the meat sale as a yearling, and then had to sale at 8. Our twins had outgrown their ponies and needed adult horses to show and my Big baby of a rescue was now trained to the hilt, solid, rideable, had a few shows under his belt and bomb proof, therefor worth good money. So mom took the sacrifice, to buy the kids new show horses (obviously affordable ones, we saved or retrained ourselves. But Percy, (yup.. Percy the Percheron lol) would roll in the mud something awful, then bake in the sun. So By the time you were ready to ride, or even just feed. You had to take a small hammer, and chisels to even start cracking the thick sheets of dry mud, now pottery he had happily encased himself In lol. Magic, while not in cases himself in clay… He’s definitely a mud hog! Now he’s a 33yr old mud hog with extreme arthritis in his front knee, from and old injury, that I inject him for daily, just to mute the pain he’s in. He’s otherwise happy, and still loving life. But last summer was very hard on him. We live in the east coast, south east, literal coast where it gets hot, and humid. I won’t let him suffer through another summer for no reason. So our days together in this life are final, and numbered. I am so blessed to have had him since he was 7, to have been his human all these years. Gone through all we have together and watched him go on to make others little drama realities, because of the amazing horse he is. I know he will push through, and stay with me as long as life allows, even when he suffers for it. He lost so much weight last summer, it took most of the winter to get it back on. He’s a 16.2, appendix, halter bred appendix. Impressive is his grandsire. Empowered , his sire. So in his day, 16.2 was naturally massive and muscled up. It’s still not shabby even at 33.. I won’t let him suffer another horrible season, just to stay by my side. So I enjoy every rainy day, and scrubbing all the new mud off his white coat. Something I despised when we were riding, and or showing. But have a lot more appreciation for it these days. He does it to be comfortable, I quit complaining, because I know he’s a little more comfortable in his old skin and I’m just happy we have this one more day, and one more groom and snuggle. Enjoy your dirty pony, every chance you get!
Love the beautifully rhythmic sound of his hooves. It's such a perfect pattern. I could listen to that all day and have already played this about 30 times so far. Have you tried letting him grow his winter coat and leaving the blanket off of him for the season to see if he still likes to roll so much? Perhaps he's just itchy and wants to get a good scratch but his blanket won't let him.
He looks very proud of himself! I can even sense a bit of a snicker and side-eye as he walks past you and I get the impression that he does not appreciate your attempts to groom him. The joys of pets!!
My boys one day after arriving on Mississippi for a visit. Furst time there. It was different for them. They never been in the deep south, country living. They said they had the best time ever. Living in the city does have its draw backs. Lets just say, my bil says my boys are the best dress just walking to the end of the drive to get mail. So the end of July we're headed back.

And this is why a wash stall with hot water, infrared heaters, and a rug dryer is worth its weight in gold. They love their mud puddles but man it’s a mess to clean up.
