    I can't watch nobody but Anthony anymore doing clothing reviews because he just kills it... Great job! Anyway! I love my Klim Induction jacket and I got an XL because at 6.2 height and 220 pounds my weight goes up and down. The thing flows a lot of air. I was so impressed that I bought the pants too.

    I think a lot of companies really miss the mark by making all black mesh jackets. It is the absolute worst color you could possibly choose for hot weather riding. I personally wear a Klim Marrakesh in grey and it has been fantastic in the Las Vegas summers which regularly hit 115. Surprised you guys chose the Induction over the Marrakesh. It flows air everywhere and the comfort is outstanding thanks to the cordura.

      Sean O'Mara I'm currently "on the fence", having recently switched from a sport bike (2006 Suzuki SV650S), to a sport-touring bike (Yamaha FJ-09, aka MT-09 Tracer). For the SV, I wore a great mesh from Cortech (as were my gloves & boots). However, with the change in riding style, not to mention riding position, a "sport bike" jacket (again, as with the boots & gloves) no longer works. I've replaced the Cortech boots with a pair from Forma, and, once they are back in stock, I'll be replacing the Cortech gloves with the Held Air Stream II.
      Finding the "best" mesh sport-touring jacket (living in Silicon Valley, a mesh jacket can be a 4-season jacket, especially for someone like me who tends to "overheat" (ie. sweat) easily), on the other hand, had been "problematic". That being said, the Klim Induction & Klim Marrakesh are two I am strongly considering. One thing that should help in finding something is that I do NOT ride in the rain...if I happen to get caught in a light drizzle, so be it, but if the forecast and/or Doppler indicates a "reasonable", or higher, possibility of rain, I won't ride. I can't afford two "high quality" jackets (such as a 3- season, plus a "winter"), so my only realistic option is to find the "best" 3-season. Based on that (Revzilla, your opinion/advice in this would also be GREATLY appreciated), would you suggest/recommend the Induction, the Marrakesh, or something else?

    • @NismoPhx
      @NismoPhx 6 років тому

      Robb Ryan I currently ride a GS as well as an SV. The Marrakesh is very comfortable in both riding positions but I would really only consider it a hot weather jacket unless you are willing to layer up underneath. The other jacket I wear is an Alpinestars Santa Fe Air and that is a great multi season jacket, I only bought the Marrakesh because I had gear credit at my local dealership and I wanted a dedicated summer jacket for the 110+ degrees I'll be riding in for a good three months of the year. The Santa Fe would be my choice if I only had one jacket. It breathes well and directs the air where it needs to to keep you cool but it does still get warm when the temps break 100. When I get out of the city and head the the mountains the Santa Fe is the jacket I take and I throw the liner in the trunk incase I need a bit of warmth/air blockage when it cools off at altitude.

    I commuted 365 days a year in SoCal, and while armored mesh jackets are great for hot weather, my white mesh Joe Rocket would be so dirty from the air pollution after a month, it looked like I was a Moto Crosser.

    • @fallinginthed33p
      @fallinginthed33p 3 роки тому +1

      That probably explains why most mesh jackets are in darker colors. Between the sweat, dirt, dust and pollutants, I would prefer a darker and slightly hotter jacket than a white one that needs frequent cleaning.

    Bought a Revit Airwave 2 a year ago after having enough of my previous sweatbox of a jacket (humid summers were unbearable). Would recommend them 100%.
    I wear mine even in winter because it's comfortable, but on colder mornings use a windproof jacket over top. Only gets as cold as 1 celsius though, wouldn't recommend doing that somewhere that gets snow...

    I own both the Dainese Mig all black and the Dainese Super Speed in black for summer riding. The good thing with both is that they come with a removable D-Dry liner that is water proof and holds off wind. Both great jackets, but both quite expensive. Also had a Revit Ignition leather mesh jacket (also expensive), that was too heavy for summer. There are jackets on the market with similar specs for half the price, but I can't help myself, I am a Dainese fanboy..
    In the hottest days, I wear a Hyperkewl Techniche Cooling Vest under the mesh jacket, that feels like driving in spring.

      For a first bike...and, more importantly, for someone who's never ridden in a regular basis before...a MAJOR thing to ALWAYS remember is, "smaller/less-powerful is better AND SMARTER than larger/more-powerful". I've known too many people who start with a powerful and/our large engine bike...they get excited, they end up in an accident (doesn't matter whose fault it is), and they decide motorcycles aren't for them. They give up. The smart, more intelligent, person gets a smaller bike to start with...day, nothing larger than a 450cc, and, better yet, something under 350cc. Spend 12-18 months really learning how to ride...and, by "learning", I mean offensively AND defensively. Spend riding time with people who have been riding for a while (10 years, or more, riding experience). This way, you not only gain 1st hand knowledge from your own learning, but you also gain knowledge from those who've learned the best things to do, AND the best things NOT to do. Perfect example, I've been riding for 34 years...I started out on a little Honda CM200T Twinstar. Half about an excellent bike to learn on. It looked like a "mini Harley", was easily freeway legal, but, at the same time, not so powerful that someone could do "stupid" things. After riding that for a couple years, I moved up to something bigger, better, and more powerful - a Kawasaki KZ550 Limited. Now, 32 years after that first Kawi (prior to my newest bike, once owned/ridden 2 Hondas, 2 Kawasakis, & 2 Suzukis), I have a brand new Yamaha FJ-09. Only idiots, or those with a "death wish", but Ninjas, GSXRs, etc, as their first bike. Ride safe, and live long.

    Where’s the Rukka AirAll jacket? I’d have replaced the Klim or the Dainese MiG with it. I have the MiG, and it’s a pretty nice jacket with great armor but it doesn’t flow NEARLY as much air as the Rukka AirAll, especially at the armored areas, and the Rukka’s D3O armor is particularly beefy. I’m still waiting for the Rukka AirAll pants to come back in stock, but they’ve got to flow more air than the MiG pants, which don’t exhibit any noticeable flow at all (at least on my Aprilia Tuono and Ducati 749R).

    I got the older version of the Alpinestars from a different seller on Amazon since you guys didn't have any left during the closeout. It's fabric is much lighter than my Dainese Air Tex, even head checks are easier with this jacket, made me worry that I got ripped off with a fake one, the armor looks like the real deal so I just dismissed it and am rocking it now. Are Alpinestars jackets usually lighter than Dainese?
    Edit: the shoulder checks are probably from the armor, but the fabric does feel lighter.

    Why no mention on the Klim that for a $350 jacket, there is virtually no adjustments. Nothing on the waist and just one adjustment on the arms. Also, in larger sizing the Klim is way off. Not enough room in the chest compared to waist, and then no adjustment to keep it tight. Lastly, please mention that a BLACK mesh jacket should be an oxymoron. It's summer, it's hot, who the hell would wear black.

    I wish that motorcycle jackets also had lengths for taller people. I say taller even though I don't consider myself "tall." I have a 39.5" chest at 6' tall. Joe is 5' 8" and the front of those jackets are dropping right about where his belt buckle would be if he was wearing a belt. So if I wear them then the bottom of those jackets will be about 3" above my belt buckle which on me just looks wrong. Also the back drop would have a slight gap between my pant and jacket as I move into a three quarter tuck. If I size up to a wider chest size then the shoulder pads don't sit correctly on me. I've been to local motorcycle shops to try on jackets. Also been searching online for sport bike motorcycle jackets for days and I cannot find the right length fit for me with the right chest size....frustrating. I just wished that manufacturers would add a new size category, Tall.

      Yes, definitely look at REV'IT! If you find waist-length jackets to be too short, consider hip-length jackets like the REV'IT! Levante. Also look at the following in size Medium Tall. -DrewZilla

      So I initially got the Speed & Strength medium Back in Black and that was way too short on length, but great fit otherwise. Returned that and already had on order the Icon Tarmac in medium when I posted my comment to this thread, but was anticipating that it would also be too short... received the Tarmac and the fit is perfect. Also remeasured my height at 5' 10.5". I will be shopping for my brother's jacket who is 6' 3" so this info will help a great deal. Thank you for the support!
