WOW! Look at the soldiers now! The foundation is still as strong as ever. MDFS Family, you cats have taken what was put together so long ago into "PURE PERFECTION." Always keep it tight, and the others will follow. Remember...we were, and still are the "Trend Setters." The first HBCU drumline to introduce Tonal bass drums and Quads to the block. The year was 1982. WOW!!! Play on SOLDIERS! O.G.82-86
Yeah I think NSU is the best...When I watch Other lines I be like man they dirty because now after watching MDFS so much they show you what being clean really is at all times.
Man that was a tight, precise, percussion section! When was this video shot? I shot a NSU drumline battle in 2000 and they look a whole lot better in this video!!
I still give the edge to PVA&M because they will show out on you in a miute..but Norfolk State beats are simply UNTOUCHABLE..they are stepping it up with their visuals though...thats what they dont have on PV.
As a percussionist and furthermore a hbcu band fanatic i must say that this is no doubt the most creative drumline I have seen....THEY ARE DEFINITELY BETTER THAN VSU, BCU, AND MBC IS NOT EVEN WORTHY TO BE IN THE SAME ROOM WITH THIS SECTION! GREAT JOB NSU
i was just at the christmas parade yesterday in downtown norfolk and it was reeaall boring then nsu came through and shut it down playing beyonce's deja vu, i've been listening to this line for years and nobody comes close and i'm seriously not biased, they are the best, most professional, cleanest sound, it's like royalty coming down the street at parades, last night didn't nobody give a shit about santa clause who was riding behind the band, fuck santa!! i'm dancing!!
hey um idk i live in norfolk an will be attending nsu "Bodacious 09" but i have to differ in opinion bcu and nsu are close to even to me. but i rather talk tubas lol.
allright, i need a breath for this one. first of all, i am a percussionist. been one for twelve years now. from a percussionist standpoint, you all are technical. but we have something you lack: showmanship. when we do it, we do it BIG. we had a gimmick because that's what a SHOW is. yes you put cadences together. but if it don't shine, it's gonna get boring. learn.
oh yeah man most def dey compare but i just think nsu is better than bcu bro...maybe dat's becuz i see bcu all da time considering da fact that i live in florida and dey perform around dis area alot....
