That turned out awesome, job well done on the harness you built. I pick up some new tricks watching. Learned a lot with gauging the wire. Thanks for sharing. Ken

Hey Zac ,I stripped the torx screw on my SS3 can I ask Diode Dynamics to help me with it? I’ve been buying with them for a while.awesome video and your T4R is really bad ass! One of the top 10 ten 5th gen 4Runner in you tube and Instagram…

I appreciate it! Yeah I actually ended up doing the same on one of the fogs and filmed none of it. You can drill out the screw with a nice bit (cobalts work great) and then just get a new cover. Maybe Diode can sell you a new fog light 4Runner specific cover. The screws pass through the light housing and then secure in the cover. If you drill out the screws, you might be able to save the cover but you might also ruin the threads. Maybe you can re tap them but hopefully they can just provide a new cover. I had 3 screws survive so I put them in and siliconed the side without the screw as a Jerry rig fix.

Pro tip....when you cut that braided jacket just use a lighter and kiss the cut edge with the flame. It will melt the jacket and keep it from coming apart while working with it.

    Impressive!
What about turn signal/cornering lights? :)

Haha, definitely. I’ve got a a second Garmin for the front in the back of my mind. I’m sure I could sort out a nice harness to tap into the front left and right turn signals so I could run the drl on each fog or something. I’d have to run dedicated wires for each DRL which I didn’t do though…:(

@@OverlandEngineer I am similarly afflicted. I have a call in to Baja Designs for this very topic! I think it's time to start a support group...

@@InGratitudeIam totally doable with a Garmin, use the two trigger points for each DRL. Or could even run constant power from a fuse panel and trigger a relay with a tapped line to each turn signal. The beauty of the Garmin is you could have them also just constantly on if you wanted as opposed to their backlighting being that sole function.

Just wondering what chain saw mount/holder you use for your Molly panel.

Great video and tutorial! Would have liked to have seen the finished harness before you installed everything.

Yeah…realized I forgot to film it…basically those reducer connectors and individual connector heat shrink and large heat shrink for all 3

Who knew all those EE courses I was forced to take would come in handy someday. Nice light setup, I think you could intimidate a Jeep or two. -Chris⛰️🚙
