    I think that i might be getting this simply because i don't own any ozone at all, and I also don't have that much mastering experience or the money to always hire engineers. With studies and work I have a limited of free time, which makes something like this perfectly, i believe. Mastering process easier and faster so i can focus more time on being a musician and make my productions sound good independently, Am i right thinking this way?

    MCompare from Melda Production is also a great tool for referencing which goes beyond soloing tracks in your daw.

    Psst they have discounts often, i picked up elements at $29. $26 on audiodeluxe. Then they had another upgrade from elements to standard $99 ($83 audiodeluxe), now standard to advanced $125. if you're into it :D

    Agree with the verdict! I was slightly disappointed as bought ozone 7 advanced just a couple of months before ozone 8 on student discount, and would've been happy to pay for an upgrade if it was under £100 (135$). Emailed them to ask if they could discount the upgrade down from their $199 upgrade fee and they wouldnt budge. Even as a non student, I don't think the extra features are worth the extra cost involved. Thakns for your time making this vid :)

      yeah I agree. Totally not worth it, and the fact you don't get an upgrade discount is a big turn off.

    I currently do not own any Izotope mixing suites. I consider myself a beginner home recording person looking to make some really good sounding music to put on UA-cam. Since I am a beginner, do you recommend getting Izotope 8 ? Would 6 or 7 suffice?

    • @beattweaks

      honestly if you're going to spend money you might as well spend it on the latest version. In terms of complexity the three would be pretty similar so you're better off going with the latest.

      I am really only interested in putting up some vids of me playing along with backing tracks. It will be just a track or two of my guitars plus the original backing track. This mixing suite may be way to much overkill. Not sure if their is a cheaper option out there that will provide professional results. If it renders an excellent final product, then I guess I should spend the money. @@beattweaks

      @@gibsonplayer8 The quality of the final product has much more to do with your skills and exprerience and less to do with the plugins being used. You can achieve excellent and professional results with stock plugins and nobody will be able to tell the difference. Any suite of plugins will produce a great final product if used properly. That being said, I love Ozone's suite of plugins. I personally only use them for mastering. Everything else is done with stock plugins.

      Right now I am not using any plugins. I am using the Fractal Axe Fx directly into my DAW. When I export the final product, it sounds tinny in some spots and too bassy in others, and I also lose a lot of volume. I am using KRK Rockits, and they are considered flat response speakers. But the final product after export sounds like garbage. This is the part that confuses me. During recording and playback, it sounds great. Once I export it to an Mp3 or send it to UA-cam, it sounds terrible. I am frustrated beyond belief. So all that being said, I don't know if investing several hundred dollars into Izotope will resolve my issues. @@beattweaks

    re: EQ Referencing - how can you do this easily in a DAW?

    • @beattweaks
      @beattweaks  6 років тому +1

      You can do it using Voxengo SPAN (spectrum analyzer) which is free and you basically study the frequency curve of a track and then make sure your mix follows a similar frequency curve. If you're talking about EQ matching, or forcing one track's EQ onto another, I really don't recommend doing that at all. It will sound unnatural and might not work for your track.
      I actually have a free course on referencing tracks and studying EQ curves. Check it out and let me know if you still have questions.
