This is one of the best Sylenth1 tutorials I have seen because of the following reasons. 1. You actually showed us what the different tweaks sounded like on the MIDI notes... that way I actually know what its starting to sound like. 2. You went slow. That's very important. 3. You told us what each thing did.. THANK YOU!
even though the vid is long im glad it is because he doesnt just go through how to make it, he takes his time and explains everything in depth, love you bro keep it up
I've experimented with designing plucks all the time in various virtual synths and finally a video that's 3/4 duration and explains so clearly and precise! THANK U
The last commenter said the exact same thing, but Dude this is the Absolute BEST SYLENTH Tutorial I've seen, (& I've been online for hours).. One thing I haven't quite figured out though.. How do you get the other voice to turn on (the "Part B").. It's the part that you used the "noise" waveform setting on..
Thank you so much man I'm so glad you found it useful! All you have to do to turn an oscillator on is just add a voice and it's on. There's no actual on/off button unless you solo one of the sections.
Hey sorry just saw this comment for some reason. I don't actually but you can find some good presets of things like that for Sylenth and learn from them.
This was AMAZING! Very detailed and simplified enough for a newbie like myself. I have been looking at presets for that one pluck sound, but now, I have made my own for future projects. Great tutorial, thank you!
I'm so glad to hear that Chris! that's exactly why I made this tutorial. Plucks will always be a huge part of the genre and you can create your signature style with just a pluck.
One of the best sylenth1 tutorials. I like how you showed us what everything was and how everything worked while keeping everything simple. Subscribed and looking forward to more of your tuts. :)
I'm so glad you found it useful and I will definitely be posting more stuff like this really soon. Feel free to message me with suggestions for tutorials or just leave them here if you want :)
This is the shit! Really fantastic, because its explained at the hand of an actual example instead of some monotone tutorial which just describes. Great job
Thank you so much man! I feel like all the information you presented was super rich and I feel like the time I invested in this has leveled up my producing two or three fold!
Very nice video, well explained! However when I tried to follow you step by step, everytime I managed to somehow fuck up the sound. Is there any chance you can upload the finished pluck preset somewhere so I can try from there? I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
Yeah I can recreate the end sound and upload it for sure. Just mess around with it and come up with your own sounds too you'll be surprised what you come up with
Wow, when I saw the length of this vid I said no at first but changed my mind. You just changed my mind. I'm so grateful. Do you sell sounds yourself? Mr Yeah

Hey man ! Amazing tutorial I think the best out on youtube, with a very detailed explaination ! I got one question though : Are you going to show any Big Room sounds in the near future ? Such as W&W, they got those fascinating drop sounds, ofcourse layerd but still very creative. Thanks anyway for making this tutorial and keep up the good work !
Hey man thank you so much for the comment. Can you link an example of something you would like to see designed? Like a specific track and a sound in that track?
Hey Kevin, I personally prefer adding those effects as separate plugins because that gives me more control. I find the effects inside the synth rather limiting. That being said if you find that your workflow is better using the built in effects then go for it.
I don't get that volume decrease that you get when activating the distortion effect and also, shouldn't adding additional harmonics and saturation increase the volume?? I can't really figure out how distortion and volume loss are related, it's like a compressor, bringing all frequencies up to the threshold.
Ok i'll try to simplify this for you as much as I can. Imagine volume like a wall. The higher you go up a wall, the closer you get to the ceiling. That ceiling is the maximum volume you can reach. It's called absolute 0. When you add distortion to a sound, what you're doing is pushing it into the ceiling, and only when you reach that ceiling will you start to actually distort the sound. So up to a point, all you're doing is adding volume. Once you reach the ceiling, you'll start adding harmonics. But then after you've added harmonics, the sound is just really loud, so you want to bring the volume back down. Then what you end up with is the new distorted sound, but at the same volume as the undistorted sound, and with less transients and dynamic range (aka it's "louder") Does that make more sense now? If not plz ask me more questions.
@@albertorolon137 Hey Alberto, I know it's like 3 years later but just in case you were wondering how to do this, you simply need to make the decay time on your amp envelope or filter envelope (or both) faster. So decrease the decay time, and then use the filter knob and close the filter and you should get that muted sound. The you can use a pitch envelope, again with decay time to give it that plucky attack.

First time I saw whole UA-cam tutorial, really well explained with details, never saw before.please keep posting such great videos.

Definitely one of the best tutorials I've seen. Thank you so much!

Thanks man. Absolutely I can do doing tutorials on those.

does it make more sense to add reverb, delay, compression and eq from the sequencer instead of the synth?
