Guys he has a classical music background. In classical music there's no natural minor. There's melodic ascending and melodic descending. So, basically the Natural Minor you guys say is the melodic ascending in classical music.
yah in classical theory. they use melodic minor for ascending only and the desending will be natural minor. if im not mistaken thats the rules on classical..
I agree with Danny Wells in comments that this is confusing! The only people who can probably follow this are musicians and people who have fairly extensive experience with music theory. They always control the pace and other people with modest knowledge are always left in the dust!
Ok 1. It's a video, you can LITTERALLY control the pace by going back and watching again, pausing to think and so on 2. Music theory is hard, it's learning a new language and no-one expects you to get it all on your first try. And 3. He briefly goes over the basic theory, but if you need more groundwork there are countless videos that go over the basics of music theory in more detail than he did so if that's something you need then maybe do that first
I saw a joke on family guy about music keys and I realized I didn’t know what it was and I wanted to look it up to be smarter and more interesting. I watched the video and while it’s well done and very informative, I’m still dumb and uninteresting
The half diminished should have been called the two thirds diminished. A full diminished is the flatting of the top three notes, (the root note doesn't move). Sounds crazy, but you're actually flatting two of the three notes that can move. The word 'half' has always confused me. Also, a half diminished is also a minor sixth. C half dim is E flat minor sixth.
Well I have to go back to the Ramada right ▶️ and I gat a lot more of the time.we ❤️ in the parking spot on your side door 🚪😀 you want me know if I need you and me and you to go back and tell him I have a few things to do
i've been trying to learn music theory during quarantine for a while now, my brain hurts but progress is being made bois
Congrats! I love your name by the way. It’s insane, and I appreciate it.
Same here. But music be tough man.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I think I was taught this in class but you made it much easier for my brain to understand!! It all makes sense now!! Thank you!!

Thanks for the useful video. How to distinguish between music in C major or A minor since they share the same keys and chords?
One sounds sad one sounds happy it just depends on what u emphasize
it's natural minor relative to c major, not melodic. melodic got VI and VII raised)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS AAAAAAAAH
Amazing stuff! I feel like I've learned a new language 🥳

I wonder, how can we use aug7 chords (meaning the 'maj 3rd - maj 3rd - min 3rd' structure)?
