  • In this video, Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) faculty member Dr. Barbara Holmes explores our 2024 Daily Meditation theme of Radical Resilience. From October through December, our Daily Meditations invite you to move with the rhythms of creation in our lives and the world around us.
When God invites us to dance, sometimes it’s to a song of despair, pain, or uncertainty. In this video, Dr. Barbara Holmes calls us to dance with whatever rhythm is moving in our lives.
She offers a word of hope: “Suppose our passage into the next life will not be determined by the amount of holiness pursued - just joy.”
    RADICAL RESILIENCE
We live in a world on fire. As the flames of unjust societies, humanitarian disasters, and ecological crises flicker around us, it is easy to feel helpless and overwhelmed. How can we respond to this destructive era with wisdom, love, and peace?
The path ahead will be challenging, but we will walk it together. That is why this year the Daily Meditations will explore contemplation as a way to build Radical Resilience - tending our inner flame so we can stand in solidarity with the world without burning up or burning out.
