Europeans dont even spend enough for military spending because they rely on the US. US also lowered taxes on the wealtby for years. Higher taxes on the rich would ease US debg issues very quickly

That is what happens when you have two world wars on your own soil and you have an unreliable and untrustworthy warmonger as your ally. Europeans believe in peace while the yanks want endless wars. All comes down to fiscal discipline.

Its not only the spending, it's the combination of spending + lowering taxes on the wealthiest for decades. In addition, US does shoulder a lot of the defense spending in NATO and in general of the western countries

BINGO ! and hence why Bond Market appetite for ever more US Treasuries/Debt is plunging and forcing yields HIGHER !
The more disturbing trend is that the longer this continues.....there is NO way the BoC can deviate lower on rates here in Canada in any attempt to mitigate/relieve the almost 900,000 Canadian Mortgage renewals coming 2024 to 2026... many of which are already Negatively Amortized far beyond renewal viability to repay !

Well its also because US central bank has risen interest rates. Demand for treasuries is still extremely high...precisely because of those yields. It's not low demand pushing yields up

'' Sooner, or later....''. This phrase, is true. SOON, THE WORLD WILL SEE THAT THIS USA, IS ' BROKE '. And, no ' indication ' that, this debt, will be PAID. THERE IS NO ATTEMPT, EVEN FEEBLY, TO BE FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE. ! Up, Up and Away . As the old song goes. Usa is going down, on the worlds' business scale. Trust, faith in USA by/from other countries, is waning downward. Sooner, or L A T E R ! (BIG crash, coming that will make 1929 look like peanuts.......)

Duh???? Let's print money at a ludicrous pace and then loan it out at next to zero interest rates and see what happens!

And while we're at it, why doesn't America patrol the world's commercial routes so American allies can trade and make commerce all throughout the world and grow their own economies, (oh!) and let's also make sure America funds the geopolitical defense of European democracies, as well as Israel, the product of European world wars, and let's not forget to then pin and spread the anti-American hate when it's all done.
Literally this system is a joke, and just like Germany owed it to its own self-interest to keep importing cheap Russian oil, America owes it to itself to not be so invested in the defense of European interests, as if they were our own whether in the US or elsewhere, specially when the Eurozone won't take defense of the EU seriously.
If Ukraine defense fails it is not because of America. If Israel fails it is not because of America. It is the Eurozone that is entirely to blame for the failures originating on their Eastern neighborhoods.
While Trump was an idiot, in this way he was not wrong.
