    Want a dehumidifier that remove water from the air, cleans the air as it works, can be used as a stand alone air purifier in spring and summer and does it quietly at just 41dB. And as the name suggests it uses very little energy.
    The much loved Meaco 12L Low energy dehumidifier ticks all of these boxes.

    Fantastic dehumidifier. We purchased one a few years ago to help with drying washing out during the winter months. It works a treat and had no problems what so ever. Even use it in the bathroom after showering to dry the room out. Would buy another meaco dehumidifier tomorrow, when the time comes. Can't recommend one of these enough.

    Which external condensate pump would you recommend using with continuous drainage when you don't have the option of using gravity to drain into something lower and instead need to stick a hose out of a window 2 meters high?

    Mine has just come up with E2 error code. It's still drawing plenty of water but have no idea what the actual humidity actually is. I've had it about 18 months and has otherwise been fantastic.

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 роки тому +4

      Thank you for your purchase and your comment. E2 normally means that the return air sensor is not able to read the room humidity, normally because it is blocked and needs a clean. The sensor is behind the filter on the right and looks a bit like a Lego block. Turn the machine off, unplug it and clean the sensor with a vacuum and it should be ok. Any problems then please do call us on 01483 234900.

    Hi, I just purchased this and plugged it in yesterday. I've targeted 45% humidity. When I turned the unit on it said I had 72% humidity, I've had it running for 24 hours now and it's only gone to 62%. Is this normal? How long can it take to get to what I've targeted?
    Thank you very much

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for your purchase and your comment. This is normal because there is a lot of work that a new dehumidifier has to do to reach the target that you have set. It needs to remove moisture from the air whilst yourselves will be putting moisture into the air constantly all of the time. Once the air is dry then organic materials in your home will start to release moisture into the air as they see the house start to dry out. So it takes around a month for a house to dry out. Hope this helps.

      @@MeacoUK Hi, thank you for the reply. My fear for running it 24/7 for a month is the cost. I'm in a two bed flat and wonder will it be expensive to run this 24/7 for a month?

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 роки тому +4

      @@GThomson92 If you set it to 50%rh, that would be sensible and the machine will turn on and off as the humidity is reached. Whilst it is running it will cost you about 3p/hour for which you will get a drier flat and a little bit of warmth from the machine as well. Your heating system will also be more efficient because it is easier and cheaper to heat dry air than it is to heat damp air. So your overall bills will not move that much.

      The air is moving, so it feels cooler (just like a fan in summer). If you have a room that is a bit cooler in the fuirst place, then the air will feel cooler. Remember, that the machine is very energy efficient, so it only adds 1°C to the air coming out, this is what you want, to keep costs down.
      At the end of the day the machine does not have the ability to cool the air.

    Our meaco dehumidifier used to collect loads of water when we bought it. Then we changed hepa filter and its no longer collecting the water. By the windows all is wet, so its not dry room, when we turn the dehumidifier on it shows number usually around 72, when we use arrows down to set the target to 30-35, leave it running for over 12 hours to find not even a drop inside the bucket, any idea what the problem is ?

      In order to be increases possibility of reaching the lower numbers, below 70, it would be ideal to leave the unit on, it will take time to get it down but using the machine only during some periods does mean in its absence of use, humidity levels will increase. Best practice is to leave it running, once the target humidity is reached, the machine will turn off and on only when humidity rises above the target. @@samclarke5096

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 роки тому

      A sore throat will come from a relative humidity below 30%rh and the machine is not capable of achieving that level, so there will be another cause of your sore throat. Sounds like you are using it in the bedroom (?). No need to do that, put the dehumidifier on the landing or in the hallway and leave the internal doors open to dry the whole house and deal with the problem that way.

      @@dypuamone9134 thank you for the further information, that level of humidity is not going to cause any dry skin or dry throat issues, so it is just a coincidence. Keep the unit running 24/7 and after a couple of weeks you will see a change and then after a month or so the whole property will be transformed. The rate of drying the air and reducing the relative humidity is determined by how much moisture you and the family are putting into the air each day. The more you put in, the longer the drying process takes.
