Thank you Rabbit!! Great Story as usual. My day is going pretty good, just contracted to build a 2.5 million dollar home 👍🏻. I am kicking around building a spec with a full basement as the garage. I would pull in to the one car garage and a lift would drop me down to the garage basement. I am in the Southlake/Westlake part of Texas just outside of Dallas. The only part I don’t have figured out is a lift that would work and have a battery back up. Thoughts? It’s on a smaller lot and I am trying to maximize the A/C area and have something Real Cool.

The 79 was never a bandit movie car. The one from Bandit 2 was the 1980 4.9 turbo with the side hood bulge (not the shaker) gold turbofin rims and decals. The 79 was the Rocky 2 car, with the 6.6 engine, although Rocky's was a hardtop rather than a T Top. Seems like any black Trans Am is called a Bandit now. That said that is an absolutely gorgeous car. Just stunning.
nobody said it was a movie car, the OO was born in 79 so he wanted a 79 not a 77, in the video Rabbit even says that the new owner literally changed the nose and tail to a 77 to be an exact replica..... and if your looking for a "Hero" car, one doesnt exist....... all 3 cars from GM/Pontiac were destroyed, due to accidents and the such, not to keep it out of collectors hands..... lol
@@d00z3r no. Not at all. Rabbit said "the 79 was in Bandit 2" which it 100% was not. Nothing to do with the actual movie cars. The 79 is a very different car to the 1980 that was in Bandit 2.
Just looking at the thumbnail, I said okay that is not a bandit. So I stared at it for a minute. Visually nothing is right. Even the too perfect black paint.
Yes sir another excellent one VINWIKI! This car will live on in one of the greatest places in the states! With an owner that will share it no doubt! -🤘
Rabbit must have been born from alien's!!! Because it's impossible to believe he could have possibly been born amongst us mortals with these stories. hahahahahaaa Home Run Baby!! Another hit out of the park!!
Back in 07, during my senior year of high school, my 96 TA blew its engine. That following weekend, I spotted an 81 TA for sale. I gave the guy a call, and the end result was 2gs, and my blown TA for his TA. The 81 had barely no rust, but it had the crap 301. Two days later, the guy called me and said that he wanted 5gs and my TA for the 81. I told him that we had already made the agreement for 2 and my car. I then asked why does he wanted more for the 81. The a-hole never told me he had it for sale on eBay and that the bid went up. I told him that I wasn't offering any more money for the 81 because I was only 18 years old, and my job then was pushing carts for a supermarket. He had the audacity to ask me to go ask my parents. My parents weren't going to help. If I wanted something, I had to work for it. Anyway, the guy screwed me over, and I called him a genuine scumbag. It still kicks me in the ass today what would have happened if I did get that 81. Hopefully, I will have one before I'm dead.
Ed, you should cannonball an old Honda Insight!! If you install enough tanks in it you may never have to stop for gas on the while trip. They get like 66 mpg
Supposedly a Bandit Trans Am helped lead the Canadian Trucker Convoy partially/was a part of the convoy. Wonder if VinWiki can get the story of that guy!
I have a 78 T/A my dad bought, new. been my daily since i got my drivers license. love my car, its black, has T tops, but not a special edition. so no gold. wish it was a CA car, but nothings perfect. T/A stories always get me.
That's pretty much one of the first cars I try to make since Forza 3. Funny coincidence, I did a spirited tire squeal in a friends 78 Camaro on a covered bridge one time.
We need more Travis Bell story times. I helped him at lift a jack or a press into his truck at work the other day and didn’t realize it was him until he left
Had a black and gold '79 400 4spd in '80. Lived a few minutes from Seaside Heights on the Jersey Shore. My neighbors used to joke with my parents that I needed to keep the T-tops on it because hot girls were always falling out the sky into my car. Fun times.

I’m 34, this was probably one of my top 5 favorite cars when I was a kid, and I’ve never heard anyone refer to the Thunderbird and n the hood as a Thunder-chicken 😂
Coworker bought a new Bandit in 77'. Said the sales guy offered him a "smoke" on the test drive. Not a good idea. Had it a couple months and it was stolen. He didn't have insurance on it. Also not a good idea. ☹️
I will never in a jillion years understand... why someone goes FANATIC over a specific car... Then turns around and sells it for something generic (like some flavor of the Month Lambo)
think IF I did one I'd use the 3rd Gen Trans Am/Firebird from the Smokey & the Bandit 3 just for fun yes I like the 78-79 ones too from the 1st 2 movies
Pulling equipment for the oil field in the middle of nowhere with a 1 ton dually and 30ft dovetail on dirt roads and wooden backwoods built bridges, you just learn to take those spray painted weight capacities as a suggestion. I've seen the roof to a covered bridge in pieces at the bottom of the hill. They probably double its capacity cutting that off....
Oh God I missed Rabbit here on the channel. He’s amongst the best story teller. He should come more often !
He has his own UA-cam channel now if you didn’t know! Rabbits Used Cars is awesome!
Go follow his own channel!

Rabbit…..such a classic story teller, such an icon. RIP brother and may the big Guy upstairs be enjoying your stories now.
6 minutes in before double digits, it’s about a Trans Am, and it’s Rob Pitts. Going to be a good day.
Seriously. We should start every week with a Rabbit story!!
Yeah, If ya wanna be lied to every week. 😆😂🤣
Any Rabbit story gets played all the way through. Everytime!
Remember when Rabbit made this channel? Good times - he still tells a great story

Yessss!!! A rabbit story?!?! It's gonna be a good week!
Rabbit has the best stories!!
Rabbit is the Kid Rock of Vinwiki. Always love his stories!
I live in Vegas and I know the guy that bought that car. My first car (30 yrs ago) was a 79 TA. I love this one.
Wonder if the hot rod builder from Vegas is Danny Koker AKA The Count from Counting Cars
Rabbit is my favorite storyteller. The only AMA subscriber Q&A presenter of whom I watched the entire video, beginning to end.
Rabbit's Chanel is a story galore, love it so much. Family "might not be most appropriate sometimes", love his stories on road trips!

Rabbit is by far the best storyteller on this channel.
I love listening to Rob tell a story. He sounds like someone I'd sit down next to at my hometown bar
Coffee ☕ and Rabbit. What a CLASSIC.
Rabbit!!! I love his stories
Rabbit stories are awesome...Would love to sit down over a bottle or two and hear more!
Moral of the story: Send it.

That’s right

I've watched every rabbit video on this and his channel and I can't get enough. Guys a legend and a national treasure
I could listen to Rabbit describe muscle cars all day long.
RIP Rob, as of August 20 something, 2024.
im impressed that they converted it to a 77.

Rabbit must have some backyard bbq party stories that would be interesting.
“Queue evil laugh” 😂 Good old Rabbit
I love rabbits stories. Classic
“Thunder chicken on the hood under 10 coats of clear. “ as it should 😂
Yo that's crazy!! I live out in Vegas and have see that trans am on the streets lol. So clean
And the big man tells one hell of a great story, & he just dropped on his own channel, Rj in Oz
Rabbit stories are the best
Man I love a Rabbit story.

Thanks for all the GREAT videos!!!!!!
My ultimate dream car of all time is the transamfirebird white with red interior.
“Thunder chicken” 😂😂😂😂😂
3:10 Somebodys hungry! You need to feed these people Ed :-)
no better story teller than Rabbit
I too would have put a '77 nose on that '79. You just can't beat it. It's one of those cases where the customizers want to make their car look older.
