What a spectacular sight. However brutal fire may be, still amazing the kind of work these fire jumpers, and the woodland fire firefighters do. Hope y’all continue to stay safe. Loving the content! Keep up the great work!
We got lucky and the wind kept it away from our property. A couple people in the neighborhood were not so lucky, losing a lot of property. Everyone was safe though, so that's a positive!
Yes, but honestly, they are everywhere in the state every summer, so, this isn't super unique to Alaska. This is just our first person experience with fire threatening something we personally own.
@@wickedalaska oh yeah, I’m very familiar with it there. I lived in Anch for 14 yrs. I’m back east now. My son was born and raised there and still visits his family in the summer. Almost lost the family cabin a few years back with the Swam Lake fire. I was actually there for that one. Pretty crazy to watch the smoke jumpers and almost made miss jumping static line for a second 😂

Totally. Not ideal circumstances, but it was cool to watch the amazing response by the fire fighting teams.
Thanks for watching!
Lots of fires up here right now...dry for sure. Be safe...Hope it stays away.
Thank you. We've been fortunate so far, but others not so much. Sad.
Yikes! Glad you guys are safe!
We got super lucky. Lots of work ahead!
Hope your hard work paid off!
I don't really know what I'm doing, but we did a lot of something! The wind was our friend mostly. Lots of work to be done this winter!
You guys put in some work!
You bet!
How is everything? Praying for all affected.

I assume this was the Montana creek fire? I live north of willow a few miles
Yes. Some very nice people lost a lot unfortunately. Pretty sad.
@@wickedalaska fires here are very scary. We live in the sockeye fire area. Fortunately we didn’t live here when the fire went through
Was this north of Anch? My 16 yr old son just came back a few weeks ago from AK and said there was a bunch around the Valley.

@@ryanbacon3442 looks like we did the opposite moves. I was in Maine as a kid and then moved this way. Pretty awesome place to adventure!
Wicked
It felt just like an active war zone for a bit. It was pretty wild!
