Corsair 680X "High Airflow" Case Review vs. Lian Li O11 Dynamic

- The Corsair 680X High Airflow case is a new ATX tower that's marketed, obviously, toward airflow. The question is whether it's another H500P.

Lian Li's O11 Dynamic and O11 Air are the most obvious competitors to the 680X insofar as its form factor and layout, leaning again on the compartmentalized case configuration. Neither costs as much as Corsair's expensive, $250 680X, though, and so to call them direct "competitors" is potentially unfair -- the O11 Dynamic and Air are much cheaper, leaving the more price comparative options to the Cooler Master H500M.

haha I saw the video in my feed and planned to watch it later. Then i could not find it again so i started to think i was crazy 😂
P600s review? :)
yup that one showed up on my rss feeds sadly it was already gone by that point.
glad you left the glass eating bit
Yeah I'm not arguing it's not a high priced case. However when you consider the fans are a full set of LL120's in the front and an LL140 in the back, which by themselves are $100 and $40 respectively...the cost isn't THAT horrible. Corsair seems to have an airflow problem no matter the case anyway. I have a 275R that I run with the front panel off til my broken finger heals so I can modify it with a Dremel for airflow as well as some paint for theme asthetics
Maybe it’s just me but I bought this case and love it. Build quality is amazing and coming from my previous case the airflow is awesome. I plan on putting 3 more ll120 fans to increase the airflow even more. This case is also very quiet compared to my previous case. Definitely recommend
I scrolled down a bit and didn't see it though I'm sure someone already mentioned this. The "countdown" bars on the side of the charts is perhaps the most glorious innovation I've seen on a youtube video that references charts/tables. I was fully empowered to decide if I needed to pause or if I had time to peruse. Thanks for taking the time to add that cool little touch.
Corsair has nailed it before with air flow with the Air 540. A highly recommended case with a similar dual compartment design to both the Lian Li and the 680X at a fraction of the cost... and it comes with fans.
I always appreciate how this man is non-stop with talking. I find it very impressive.
Shows how good Der8er and Lian Li did with their case
after i saw the 280x, i was hyped for a atx version and couldnt understand why ther was no bigger brother like in the Air series, but after this review, it looks cheap out in compare to 011 :(
Der3er ;)
011 is an amazing case. Superb cooling and looks amazing on a desk. None of this ultra-gamer-nerd-sweat-neon case that looks like an eyesore in a contemporary home/apt
Yeah. If only the Lian Li 011 had more room for a decent CPU Cooler..no giant dual towers, just a Noctua U14 would be enough.
@@simoSLJ89 I think they will do that in a revision
Poor Coolermasters getting shamed for the H500P in every GN video
As is tradition.
No, they do not get sympathy.
They dug this hole layed down and asked us to shit in it.
(they earned it)
They did fix it, but they still deserve shit.
Ever since they names products line after "Mastershite" ...yeah they deserve everything
I have this case with a massive duel noctua heatsink. Ryzen 5 5600x overclocked to boost at 4.9ghz on all cores. Fully air cooled and with all cores running in benchmarks it never gets over 65c - when gaming for 10 hours non stop which is a more real world use case, the temps never get a over 59c.i can't speak for other people or their use case but for me this is the best case I have ever had the pleasure of existing next to and it will remain an incredible case for as long as it lasts which is probably measured In decades. Oh and I paid £120 for it brand new. I couldn't be happier with it. I'd happily pay quadruple.
Corsair 680x is a rare beautiful case, and easy to build, very well designed, the temp is not a concern for me.

Corsair: Here is the new and improved 680X *Mesh*

Ftfy
Not yet :(
Ever heard of the carbide air 540 and 240?
Were just like these but all mesh!
I would love to see a slithly bigger 240.
Riley White it’s easily removed.
Ima get my 680x a 3d printed mesh panel for front and top
Built this case with a 3950X and 2080Ti. Using a NZXT Z63 and it's running really well. I even have it set as a negative case pressure.
Hey, I really love the way you highlight your data points and the bars on the left \ right of the screens when you switch segments to indicate time left on that segment.
GN is never going to let Cooler Master off the hook, are they?
I got the H500 mesh and always cringe a little bit when I see the call backs. But those thermals with the mesh are so good. Finish is a bit scruffy in places though.
well but the mesh variant is still one of the best airflowcases cuz of 2x200mm fans :o
It is actually amazing how good the h500p mesh is and yet how similar it is to the h500p. Makes the h500p look like wasted potential.
Cooler Master kinda shit the bed since like the original storm scout scout/HAF series case. Even the storm scout II just took a nice case and made it hideous. I still have an old system in the scout 1, and built in a new HAF case for a customer (They're choice) and it just feels cheap and half assed/poorly thought out.
Why would they? That CM case was absolutely trash. The revisions are nicely done though.
I love my carbide air 540, because it's nice to add in a disc drive, and usb/card reader, but I had to mod it heavily for an additional radiator (questionable how much it was needed) and more 3.5 HDDs. This is a great breakdown on why to stay with it for several more years!
If you don't care about added costs and possible noise involved would you think slapping 2 additional intake fans on the bottom and a h115i rad exhausting on the top fix the temps? I truly love the aesthetics of this mammoth over the Lian Li enough to overlook the cost difference but not if the performance cannot be fixed.
It does, don't listen to this review. They did not test using a setup that most would given the potential of this case. I added 3 more fans to mine and a radiator up top for a push pull config, the air juts out easily from the side of the vent at the glass panels. It really needs a bit of thought on how you push the air through the case. I really love mine it's awesome to show off your components.
Love watching these new case review videos and sitting back and giggling with my Corsair Carbide 500R and its 7 fans keeping my system cool.
Corsair *badly* needs to get back to its roots, providing excellent products for fair prices. It seems all they care about nowadays is bling, bling and RGB everything. I really have no idea what they're doing, and I've been a pretty loyal Corsair customer for some 10+ years.
Bring back the high-quality Obsidian series without bullshit, focus on performance first and foremost.
Still a great case don't let this review deterr you if you can afford it
>Stick three fans in front of your brand new case design
>Proceed to slap glass panel right in front of them next

i bought the o11 dynamic off amazon. because of future upgrade plans, considering they had 3 left in stock i decided to pull the trigger a few days ago due to your review and love it so far!

The fans that come in it, the LL 120mm RGB fans, are $100 for a triple pack. So with a small reduction for the cheap black fan, this case is only $130-140. I would say that's a good deal, considering how good this case looks.
No, it goes even further, a Lighting Node Pro is included in the case, which is a set of 4 RGB strips as well as a Commander Pro for hooking up like 8 Corsair RGB products or so, and one of those is $60 alone as well, so really this case is only about $100 when it all boils down to it, not a bad price at all if you want these fans already.
Seth Kauffman the lightning node pro only has 6 sockets for rgb products, trust me I have the case
@@willmarcheselli1986 nah you're right, I read it wrong at first, as it also doesnt have the strips I mentioned, but I mean eh this is life lmao. It is a nice ass case though, I ordered it myself, I love it. Idc high airflow or not, I put a 240mm AIO on my CPU which is exhausting out the top, and have 3 fans cooling all the other parts lol, in a room constantly air conditioned at 60° farenheit.
@@willmarcheselli1986 is the airflow any good and have you tried removing the front panel
Just bought Silverstone RL06BR-GP (the one with tempered glass) for 90 EUR + PPT, after looking throught dozens of different case reviews on here (props to Gamers Nexus for excellent reviews!). It looks good, i could fit everything i needed in there (3 HDD slots were great for me) and it cools extremely good! For 100 bucks it's hands down the best built air cooling oriented case you can buy. Phanteks P400A and CM H500 Mesh are good too, but i liked this one the best in the end and so far i'm very happy with the purchase!
surprised you didint just buy a Corsair 4000D like most of the world are doing for mid-towers xD
I’ll keep my Air 540!
yeah, plastic and metal downgrade but add some glass and rgb and here you go! ~Corsair

yep had mine since release and got one for my daughter. but ya a glass instead of plastic would be nice.

Silverstone Raven RV02 is the king. Such a shame there is no new revision for it after RV05.
Just recently replaced (after 6 years) it with a Lian-Li O11D with a custom loop.
Watching this review with my Corsair AIR 540 and laughing. I got excited at first, but the price and lack of airflow still proves, that I have the best case still. Maybe if they offer this case without those LL120 fans, which adds a cool 100 dollars/euros, maybe then the case would make sense, but not like this. Thanks for the thorough review. Greetings from Estonia. :)
For 250? Christ... Just gonna stick with my 011-Dynamic. It's literally the best case I have ever built in even after 15 solid years of building.
Lian Li will soon release a new case like Dynamic but with more focus on Air Cooler
@@ZAR556 How do you know that?
Already did
O11 Air
O11 air is shit tho
I’m thinking of buying the Lian Li XL, and I just curious cause I’m looking around online is, can you still have good temperature without water cooling? Cause I just want pure air cooling.
i just bought this case for £165. it comes with 4 120mm fans and its good value. the lian li o11 dynamic XL is around £205 and doesn't come with any fans. i think NOW the 680x is a better deal
Glad I got the largely underrated air 740 a while ago, I know it's an older case but it pretty much has the same layout as this 680x (with out the glass panels choking it though). That said, I'd love to see you guys test the corsair air 740.
I was looking for the Air 540 in white, but I see it's discontinued as well as the Air 740. This is what we're left with. :C
One of the best cases I've worked in was the 740. Maybe won't win every looks department contest but I hardly cared with how easily it took nearly anything I wanted without much consideration.
Still loving my corsair air 540
yep had mine since it came out. awesome case.
I like the design and I'm going to get it for my next build.
And i think I'll put a custom water cooling loop in it.
might be a good case for a top 280mm AIO and 140mm's on the bottom, the 3 120's can sit and look pretty up front but the 140's do all the work. Also, i have checked their website and it says "high airflow potential" so... i guess they are right on that...?
That's exactly how I setup mine. Temps are far better than this review. I knew going in the glass panels would be a problem so I upgraded and did a push pull with top radiator. This case is absolutely gorgeous and you really need to see it in person to fully grasp it.

Picked up the 011 Dynamic after watching your video and I'm super glad that I did. The 011 is THE BEST case I have EVER worked in. Looks amazing, great airflow (for a non airflow case even), and was a breeze to build in; pun intended. Your video helped me make my final decision and this video solidified (although I was already sold the second I took the 011 out of the box) my purchase even more so than it already was. Thanks for the great videos GN. I'll be back for the next!
Great video! On a waiting list for the 011 alpine white, which finally came in last week! Arriving this week, can't wait!!
I will say those LL120 fans are about $125 for a box of 3 at normal price. So if you wanted those fans in the Lian Li case it would bring the price right up around the same.
I watched this before buying my 680x, and I still bought it, and I still love it lol. I didnt get it for the marketing, I got it for its aesthetic, I was upgrading my pc a bit and decided on a 4x8gb kit of Vengeance RGB Pro cause it was the exact look I wanted (idk why, but even Deepcool CF120 ARGB fans as well, I just love diffused RGB lol), so I needed to match that. I also use a 240mm AIO though so I dont really have to worry about any fans feeding the air into an air cooler, I've got my rad mounted top/exhaust so it's good. But yeah I get it, it should definitely be lower in price, just to somewhat compete with the 011 Dynamic, because I was so absolutely close to choosing it instead, but I just didn't because I like the look of the 680x too much (my 1st pc ever was even closer to being inside a 280x, with 2 more fans up top, but I didnt go through with it)
im building a pc right now and want the case, looking for a comment by someone who owns it. you're the only one i have found. im glad you enjoy the case, and if you say it works well i'll definitely get one
@@Apollo_the_Blond I have it, the door is really nice, its a shame you can't easily remove the front glass, but it is removable. (Just looks odd)
I'd still buy the RL06 even if they're the same price. But really my heart goes to the spec06 for a white build.
Thanks steve for another honest look at these new products.
The problem with tempered glas panels is, that the manufacturers don't burn/lazer some air-lines/-holes/-slots on those tempered glas panels. -> No airflow = heat increase = performance decrease.
Just imagine how much companies would get over on us if it wasn't for honest reviewers like GN...good lord man this case is disappointing...
Sorry but i have to DISAGREE with this review. I have this case housing a 5900X and RTX 3080. 5 fans intake, 3 exhausting, i have ZERO issues with airflow. 5900X hits high 60s during CB R23 and low 60s during gaming and 3080 barely hits 70 under intense gaming. I'm also surprised you decided to test with only an 120mm air cooler, did you not test with an AIO because mine is running a 280 up top and a lot of fellow builders who have this case and have no airflow 'issues' all run AIOs.
My Lian Li Dynamic comes today and I am excited... Thanks to all the great reviews from reputable minds, I decided to get it.
This is my go-to channel for honest case reviews.
Based on the performance (temperatures), it's not remotely in the right region for a $250 case. $150 MAX would be more acceptable. Even the H500P seems more appealing 😄
Piers H I got my h500p for 90 dollars and I like it’s nice honestly edited ( it is the h500p mesh)
@@kyleritchie862 Each to their own. I keep my tower under a desk so am one of those miserable sods who doesn't care about glass, RGB, or funky aesthetics. I like a simple case with good airflow 😊
Lian li 011 dynamic is cheaper with no fans but this has $100 fans in it so same price if you want those fans! Lian li is still better IMO!
@@Nerevarine420 Nice. If you've done testing, how close to GN's results are your CPU and GPU temps?
@@Bulvine420gaming Cooler Master MB511 RGB for the win, i paid 65 euros VAT included, that's like $70-75, and it dropped my GPU temps by a lot, not a fan of RGB and loud fans(even at 1200rpm) so I sold 3x front RGB fans and I'm waiting for my new Noctua Chromax airflow fans to get shipped, 2x of those will do the same job as 4x cooler master ones probably, on 1200rpm it moves more air than this same cooler master fans at 2000, just case come with 1200rpm version, they put 1300 in aftermarket set, 1800 in aircoolers and 2000 only in AIO's
Very nice case...On my first build when I turned it on WOW! All systems go.
old case now, still a great one. Put some good fans in the bottom of this case and temps drop big time! Adding more spacers to the front glass works wonders too. Place the radiator in the front as intake, place intake fans in the bottom. GPU gets cool air, CPU radiator gets cool air and this case is about as good as it gets.
I use this case and got a 3 pack of Corsair LL series 120mm RGB fans, replaced the stock one on the back and mounted the other two on the roof of the case, and it drastically improved the airflow to the point where the inside of the case is considerably cooler than the rest of its surroundings
Thanks for this comment just got the case and sounds like I should do the same as u
Thanks for the info and I'v been battling between these two for awhile so this made it a lot easier.
I'm a simple man. When a new case review comes out, I watch
It's funny though. I think case is the last thing in a pc build to think about. Less important than cpu, gpu and whatever. Even the power supply is more important. Still i found myself watching case reviews by far more than component reviews.
I'm not sure if saying the O-11 dynamic is cheaper is exactly fair, 3 LL-120 fans runs for $100, so the pricing is pretty on par.
It doesn't cost Corsair $100 to make those fans.
Arctic P12 cost $6-8 each and are on par/better than LL 120s
Would like to have seen this reviewed as it is. A successor to the Air 740 and Air 540. They basically fixed the fan filter problem and went with glass instead of plexi. I'm seriously considering this case for my future Ryzen custom watercooled build this summer when that drops. I was already looking at the Air 740 but hated the plexi panel. I would also like to see steve do 2x 140mm fans on the bottom and x2 140mm's on the top with the air flowing up.
I miss my ugly 740 a lot. Great case to build in.
That would have been an excellent case if they had of skipped the glass on the front. I wonder who the asshat was who originally thought that idea up? Still rocking my 760T and still loving it.
LOL, it was so bad it became a punchline during Linus's roast.
THAT punchline brought me here to this video for the first time. 😅
@@PSYCHOV3N0M you're not the only one
Fun fact: In the product photos on Corsair's websites, they show IDE 3.5" HDDs installed in the case.
Steve: There is a new case calling itself 'high airflow'
Also, Steve: **Starts to laugh like a psycho**
I bought the case on the strength of having used the 540 Carbide several times in the past for a high airflow cooling rig, and I do have to agree with the review that the thermals are a little bit disappointing. Having said that, they're well within the necessary ranges. I don't experience thermal throttling running a 5800X3d except on high workloads with mathematically complex operations (like the Prime95 torture test) which is just a feature of the chipset due to the impact of the 3d cache and the boost mechanics, but with a 280mm AIO mounted at the top temps are solidly within the limits. I can see this becoming more of a problem with an aggressive overclock, though, which is obviously not a vexing issue with the 5800X3d.
Having said that, the problem really does come down to the bad marketing here, since this should be a case you can buy for overclocking, but really the stock design is just deceptive because of the glass panels (which look really freakin' nice, but are 100% non-functional for cooling). Having said that, with the AIO I have not experienced any significant thermal differences removing the glass on either the top or the front during normal loads, only bench marks... and a solidly tweaked fan curve tends to reduce the noise problem if you're using an AIO.
I do love the dual-compartment design, and it's pretty good here, but the lack of good methods for cable management is unquestionably a problem, but it's a minor one IMO. Having said that, the cables in your hidden chamber are definitely going to be a bit messy just because of the logistics here. There's also not great room for an extra RGB/fan controller to fit nicely... mine is dangling from other cables. I do not love that, but you work with what you have.
One other note about the glass panels: Once the heat gets up there, they do non-destructively pop with thermal expansion... sometimes loudly. I'm hoping this is something that just breaks in as I use the case and the seals loosen up a little. Honestly, my 540 did that for a while, too... just... not as loudly.
One place I will give them credit for regarding the design is that it's relatively easy to mod the parts of the case which seem to be the biggest problem. There are replacement panels for the glass panels out there which promote airflow... or you can just take them off by taking off some screws. I've seen far worse designs and while the case itself may sacrifice some arguably unnecessary thermal performance for looks, at least it gives you some options to adjusting the case. So if you're not afraid of some screws and don't mind the cost, most of the criticisms start to become a little less of a problem. Honestly, I'm probably just going to keep the front panel on since with the AIO the thermal situation is really not a huge problem with CPU on real world loads between 50 and 70 degrees and still relatively quiet.
This video answered all my questions about a pc case. Awesome!
After watching this i removed this case from my build list but i ended up buying it anyway lol its to pretty! im the reason companies make subpar products that look nice.
Hi bro, did u buy the 680x?
What about the temperatures? I'm thinking about buy the case and use it with default coolers (4).
@@nishikysoftw7520 I bought the case and had it for a couple months now. I’ve noticed the vents gets clogged and dusty really fast and needs cleaning every few months, and the inner glass gets dirty which is a pain to clean. Otherwise the case is really cool I like it.
@@bowjangles510 Okay thanks bro, and the temperatures are good? whats your PC specs?
How many fans do u have?
@@nishikysoftw7520 It does, don't listen to this review.
Sad that GN runs all their cases as stock except for the one that directly compares to this with general form.
reminds me of The Carbide Series™ Air 740 cube in which I have 6 RGB fans using the Commander Pro ( plus 2 in the AIO up the top ).....thankfully the mess is hidden in the back compartment and to be honest you really dont need to tidy these up. I hate glass at the front, of cases....mesh can be done and looks great in front of RGB fans ( use RGB as temp control). Hopefully they will listen to you and have a version without the glass or even glass with numerous holes drilled in it ( in a decorative way ) that allows air through. Also I removed all the hard drive cages...they look the same as you show here and just have 2 x M.2 drives and an external drive to back up.
Still would be interested to see what would happen if you added 2 more fans to the bottom like what I have..........and I agree, its not high air flow
Well, I have the Crystal 570X, and I find it perfect for my needs. It is by default a positive-pressure case, with 100% of the air being sucked from the outside through a very fine mesh fiter. I usually vacuum the front filter every month, and the case inside is mostly very clean.
I do like this 680's back cabinet though, for a lot of drives and cabling. But I will stick to my 570.
one of the few channels with the balls to criticize products and the best!
anybody who has anything negative to say about this either doesnt have one or hasnt got a clue. Running 2080ti i9-9900k temps are fantsatic. H100i on cpu & fans for the rest. System idles at 24 degrees & maxes @ 52 degrees on modern warfare max settings in 4k. This really is an airflow beast & I assure you you will not be dissapointed. Anybody with different temps to me hasnt built it right.
O & btw, I will be happy to make a video because I think this case needs more positivity. I have all my glass panels connected! No need to do anything the case is great.
Old comment but same, my system idles around 40 degrees on air, and the front glass noticably sucks in quite a bit of air.
Glad to see that i'm not the only one who forgets to place an IO shield only after completing the build. XD "7:05"
I just got this case and will put a reservoir/pump combo in the front, a 240 rad in the top and will mod the bottom to fit a 360 rad. Config will be that the 360 rad at the bottom is the exhaust because it´ll be the hottest rad and intake will be back and top... it sounds mad but it ll work with a 8 core AMD CPU and an older Radeon VII.
I bought the 680x open box for $170 but i mainly got it for the looks and it was the only case I was able to find that I thought looked nice and had a type C connector in the front or top. I still enjoyed watching this video though
It's a major loss of opportunity to not test cases like this one with more fans, using them to cool he GPU properly. A case like this which moves the power supply out of the way is not meant to be run in a stock fan configuration. Yeah, it would be great if a case would excel in stock configuration but I'd rather have a case that does bad in stock configuration but has the potential, e.g., after front-glass removal and adding GPU fans, to do very well. The O11 dynamic's side intake for fans cannot be ideal for air flow due to the required change in direction, at least when considering an air-cooled system. Yet a better designed case like the 680X is not given a chance to flex its muscles. Hope you can avoid focusing on stock configuration performance in the future and show why case designs like the 680X (with front-glass removed) make sense. After all, why would anyone buy anything beyond a two-fan case with a GPU-suffocating power supply shroud, if your testing does not reveal the limitations of such designs?
earned my subscription for the honest review :)
Cant wait to see this video again!!! Gotta love real case reviews not paid advertising. It's getting harder and harder to find real reviews online. I bet manufacturer's get so nervous everytime they send your company a product. Lol.
I feel that your test wasn't fully representative of how this case is intended to be used, very few of the people this case is marketed at would used an air cooler for their cpu, I have mine setup with the h150i pro rgb in a push pull setup on a 360 mm rad. The other thing that really stood out via its abscence was that it has 4 more fan mounts for 140mm fans, two at the top and two at the bottom making it a total of 11 fans I'm running. Failing to use or even mention these in an airflow test is negligent at best and not demonstrating the case to its full potential as Corsair intended it.
100% agree. I have done the exact same setup and my temps are far better than this review.
So review summarized: for 250$ get a O11 Dynamic, stick 4 Noctua fans into it and add the anti-vibrating mounting for those fans. The resin things to plug instead of screws, actually removed a lot of vibrations from my desk.
Viewing this in 2021 and I have a question regarding both cases. Are you using stock fan setups in all tests? I ask because I (personally) would never -not- have a full fan setup, which then would (theoretically) change the results all around.
Steve's justified hate for front glass panels that cut air flow is like ASMR for my ears.
Also, is there some way to mod the glass panel on the front so it sticks out further?
does anyone ever make a buy without watching these very informative guys and then regret buying whatever it may be.. i know i just did..lol
Is it bad that I bought this because i love how it looks?
Is it good?
I bought it too and will take front glass panel off. Will then go to my local glass shop to do a custom design to allow airflow.
@@antagonistz3571 So far my thermals are acceptable. I don't do any overclocking though. If that's your thing you may want to reconsider this case.
@@Makajezi I thought the same thing. Maybe get a glass piece that has some cool cut outs. However, that would only be needed if I do decide to overclock my hardware, which i haven't had the need to do so yet. I have an i7 9700k paired with an FE 3070. pushing 1440p / 120hz high setting (most games). CPU has the corsair H115i capellix aio. Chassis has all fan slots filled. So far nothing has reached an alarming temp.
@@zigzack54 Nice! I have a Ryzen 7 5800x and an ASUS Strix RTX 3090. I have the H115i Elite CAP also. I went with this case since not many cases can do H115i and Dominator RAM.
I will have 3x 120's in front, 2x 140's on top (and radiator), 2x 140's on bottom and 1x 140 on back.
I'm hoping my local glass shop will do a custom design.
I have this case and it is a good case, with 8 fans it does a really good job in cooling my system
I AM LOVING my corsair 465x RGB $150 CDN with LL120 fans
"High Airflow" Case. Drops 8,5°C without the front glass panel.
Loved my 540 Air and love this even more
Comparatively, the air flow OUTSIDE the case is high when measuring the flow inside the case. So the case still does create high airflow.
I bought one of these at the Flea-market for $100 dollors (Still in the box, opened but not used) and I thought I had scored BIG TIME. So I figured I would pick up 3 more of the 140mm RGB fans. Replace the one in the back of the case and put 2 up top. Come to find out the price of those fans on Newegg was close to $50 dollors each! So I still ended up with $250.00 in the case!!!! At this point what can I say....
4:50 for that price, they could add some sound dampening material like in my cmmaker 5 frontdoor, instead of just cheap looking plastic. ^^
could you please do a mid-range case round-up? i'd love to see someone compare cases such as coolermaster q300l, phanteks p300 etc copared in one video.
thanks for the work you all do hopefully you can find time to do such a video
Its strange they went that direction. I have an Air540 from 6 years ago and it has great airflow and only cost $100 canadian.
Love my Air540! The cable management, room, airflow and rad support make it an awesome choice!
Can you believe they embargo a CASE? It’s $250 which is truly insane, but it’s a case.
everything has an embargo. not everyone is going to get a case on the same day just because of shipping times. it is only fair if items are shipped out a bit early and everyone has had a chance with the case before the review is posted. People who get the case first, barely work on it, then post a review immediately would get more than their fair share of attention.
just add out the 100bucks fans ^^
Corsair is batting 1000 today. 2 cases released, both overpriced. "High Airflow" case is meh airflow and "Silent" case is meh acoustics. Some Corsair employees should be dusting off their resumes today.
@@benedictcanyoncomputers5227 InWin, NZXT(more of a budget option, but still good quality), a lot of great cases for that or lower price, I got Cooler Master case for good airflow, not because I wanted quality case, if I wanted quality would get something else, but this one works for me(MB511 RGB)
corsair case are way better tought than competitors which are mostly a metal cage that have barely evolved (except lian-li) you obviously have never tried to build a crazy all out rgb pc in a corsair then in another brand to make "internet comments" like that I did and even tough yes corsair have big flaws, all the others do too, the hidden truth in that "xl" version is that the previous one was complete garbage, who tought it was a good idea to have the motherboard touching the bottom of the case ? it was a pos for a mid-tower
Still rocking my Corsair Air 540! I'd love an upgrade but no need!
Don't get me wrong I agree with your testing method but I would love it if you could also include a full fan test , I only say this as if I was to buy a 9 or 10 fan system I would fill them. only because I feel its aesthetically pleasing, with the addition of it requiring lower speed to keep the system cool, althought dependent on situations.
It's a shame I can only click on Like once. Very, VERY informative video and I loved the scientific analysis on the airflow and noise. It takes a lot of work and I really appreciate that. Your call out on the false marketing from Corsair was one of the highest points too.
always appreciate an honest review
Steve, what stops companies from doing a design on the front glass panel? a design, including many gaps allowing airflow along with the aesthetics or even increasing them?
I have the Corsair A540 and Lian Li 011 Air. Corsair needs to make the Corsair A740, something that can fit 4x 360mm Rads with fans and partmental. I have 3x 360mm with fans Rads in Lian Li 011 Air, and it a very tight fit. That the go to case I think as the price and performance is great too.
The O11 dynamic is ALMOST the perfect case. It's a shame that it wont fit a d15s. It just needed 1 or 2 cm added to the width!
laughs at width restrictions while making gaps for the NH-D15 fin stacks in the top of a 380t (pain in the ass mod though.. sooo many measuring first.)
Corsair uploaded the same time the Carbide Series 678C.
Let’s not forget that water cooling the 680 changes EVERYTHING…such as air flow doesn’t matter as much and it’s OK to just turn the fans off
Watched another channel review and first thought was this looks like it could be pretty good for a watercooled build, all that space in the main compartment. Then they showed how the filters were removed. This fitted with rigid tubing would be a nightmare when you had to clean filters. Mainly applies to front filter, as Steve says, the top one is a bit superfluous.
Nice Case Steve.....I am not sure how much you know about Corsair or Lian LI BC I have been asking LIan LI for almost since the case was first shown last year at Computex 2018 about a larger version ( i even asked Roman but he didn't know .......i kinda didn't think he would but it was worth an ask) SOOOO Seeing how Lian Li wont comment or make a LARGER ALL WHITE O 11 Case like Corsair's NEW 680X... Hopefully Corsair will make an ALL WHITE VERSION to fill the BIG BOY TOY MARKET!!
While I will say there is some cable tie back issues as You pointed out Steve The Bigger Case Size makes for more choices in Builds, Designs , layout, OH and lets NOT forget the MODS ........My brain went into over drive when i saw you pop off the front panel.....I can see so many ideas for that space.....from light up custom name plates to see through water cooled RES & Pumps......OMG the Unlimited possibilities that are NOW GONE !!
I was so Fucking MAD THAT NOT NO ONE picked up Case Labs Plans or Recreated Their Masterpiece Cases Because you can say good or bad about all Case Makers but NO ONE MADE A CASE BETTER THAN Case Labs PERIOD!!!!
Im sorry that's one of the Biggest Gripes I had with the O 11 its a Bitch to get Big hands into those tight Spots in the O 11 So LIAN LI if you are not going to make it Bigger then Corsair PLZZZZZ Tell me you made an ALL WHITE 680X and if so when on sale I want 2 NOW !!!! when Case Labs Went under thanks to those assholes who Fucked em over... I was pissed so this may fill my need for a good looking dual case! The only OTHER case I see around right now that MIGHT work is the Thermaltake View 91>>>>> BUT AS It's MIA STILL NOT to mention NOT ALL WHITE EITHER !!! SO CORSAIR For All that is good and Right Make AN ALL WHITE CASE For the LOVE OF MODS!!! Cow}:-o)
"For 250 bucks it better can cook my breakfast or something"
- Lian Li O11Dynamic
As a recent buyer of the O11 Dynamic, it sure has its down side, like the screw quality. But the price of the corsair is too high to even think about it, UNLESS it can cook me breakfast everyday.
