  • This series explains the technical and creative workflow of the documentary Crumbs - Toppling the Bread Cartel.
It's also a tutorial that goes through the system we developed for crafting a story from a large amount of interviews and visuals. For this we primarily used Avid Media Composer and Microsoft Office.
These are based mainly on my own trial and error experiences but I think I picked up some useful techniques for making an indie documentary outside of the studio system.
    Part 1
Introduces the documentary and covers the basics of getting ready to shoot and how to manage the footage in Avid Media Composer.
    Part 2
Talks about how we used transcripts to create a paper edit in order to create the narrative.
    • CRUMBS Post BTS & Tuto...
    Part 3
Is about creating an assembly cut from the paper edit using Avid Script Sync.
    • CRUMBS Post BTS & Tuto...
    Part 4
Deals with refining the edit and working with visuals. This concludes the series and goes through key techniques for creating the final, polished product.
