- This video is about my 1974 XB GT 351 Coupe Restoration Project from early days to the end. It was a build which I completed during a divorce in which I was separated from my son and so had some emotion connected to it, and so this was for him so he can always watch when he wants. the car was a basket case when i got it with many parts missing but it was a matching number car, so over the years I collected a lot of NOS parts and finally in 2018 I had it painted by the Crew at Malibu Paint & Panel in Ingleburn NSW www.aaamalibu...., they did a fantastic job. the rest of the car came together easily after that and the car speaks for itself. I sold it when completed and it now lives in Melbourne with a new and loving owner, for me it was the journey of building this car that counted and not the destination.

Well done great job. I had a 4 door gt fmx when i was 19. Cost about $7000. In about 1978.. Worth a lot more now.

I have one too. Polar white GS 351 coupe, virtually rust free and sitting in my shed. Can't afford to resto it, so iI guess it'll end up as my sons project when he's old enough. Beautiful car mate. Well done on the resto.

Love everything but the color! I didn't realize how much the Falcon is a Torino back end attached to a Mustang front end before I started watching your videos. Love the looks of the Australian Falcon, the American Falcon was a small homely box with rounded edges, but of course was the precursor to the original Mustang in all but body.
Thanks, I know what you mean , the color is a factory color, being a genuine GT Falcon and very rare ( only around 900 approx of this model ) I had to do a concours restoration or as close as to maximise its value
@@phatridesgarage3760 Yep, if it's doable, that's what you gotta do. If it ain't, then you retro-mod it like that other Falcon/Mustang you got in the works. This one looks amazing, and other than the RHD I'd take it any day. Very nice job!

I had a four door in tropic gold, looks much better when you it in the flesh rather than photos, great rebuild love seeing old Fords restored.

Thanks for your comment, I bought my first coupe in 1984, i have been taking them apart and fixing them on and off since, i taught myself through trial and error I guess, glad you like the car

Thanks mate, the Color is called Tropic Gold, and I think PPG was the paint used

My heart goes out to you mate, now that its September 2020 have you managed to catch up with your Son on a regular basis? Can you go back to court and get things on a more even keel?

Is that Gold color it's original color?
Will The Thrill - Yes mate , Paint code H , Tropic Gold metalic - but this was painted in PPG 2 pack so the brightness etc will be much better than the original Duco
