Love the Smokies…in fact I just camped at Elkmont when that rainstorm came and flooded Dollywood. It rained all night long and my tent pad filled with water(site16) like a pool. I had to dig trenches and looks like the wood support was already cut in places but not enough. I had to dig it more. Got soaked. Great info. I went to Cades Cove and camped there last year. @NurseyPooh We have video reviews of both Smokemont and Indian Creek. Indian Creek was just done earlier this year, so it's more recent. Hope your next camping adventure is much better.
Thank you and Shawnasi for taking us through the Smoky Mtn National Park! We enjoyed all the views and Elk. When and where are the best places to see “live” bears?? I am wanting to see live ones when we visit on our next trip. Thanks for all the videos and work you do preparing them for us to view. Keep sharing videos with us. ❤️
@angelaambrose2326 You can pretty much see bear anywhere in the Park, but the best place, by far, is Cades Cove. Early mornings or late evenings are the premiere time. It is possible anywhere else in the Park, but not nearly as likely. They tend to not be out during the middle of the day as much. And to be honest, there is sadly, a lot of bear activity in the town of Gatlinburg at night. Unfortunately, those bears don't usually last as long. They come into town to forage for food. But they have become habituated to human food, and that greatly shortens their lifespan. They will eventually get aggressive with someone in town who tries to get too close, and will be euthanized. Or, they will possibly get hit by a car or become a problem bear, that has to be relocated or euthanized.
It's our 2nd home for many many years. We never get tired of it. 😊 We also enjoy supporting the park for everything they do to keep it beautiful and safe for all.
Few years back, the field was full of the Elk. It was amazing 😊 ....also, last year in October, Newfound Gap, it snowed. The beautiful trees tips glistened with snow! It was truly amazing!
