I stayed 4 nights in Waynesville last week for my fall vacay. Had an amazing view of the mountains from the Econo Lodge. Also went to Lake Junaluska. So pretty in fall.
In 1981 my parents participated in a craft show at a small school in Waynesville. I was a teenager at that time and always carried my banjo and played when we went to a craft show. Waynesville was the only place that I have gone to where there were a lot of teenage musicians. I really enjoyed being able to play with other young banjo players even younger than myself. I will always remember Waynesville and wonder if the young people there now play bluegrass music like they did in 1981. Thanks for posting this video.
I remember the first time I got to visit Waynesville, it was kind of in the middle 90s, and I absolutely fell in love with the area! Such a neat little town!
my family has been going up to Waynesville for 30+ years, we have seen the downtown shift and change. mostly the restraints like the old bakery that's now a pizza place or the Irish pub. but in the past few years life has started really come back to the downtown area. still one of the best places to go after going to water rock knob on the blue ridge. you can even drop by barbers orchard and pick your self up some of there apple cyder donuts that my wife loves. the area is just full of life and places to go. yes I miss the old places and the way it was, but I'm happy i can now bring my kids and they will get to enjoy Waynesville and Maggie valley like I did.
t’s gotten so crazy up here thst I rarely go downton anywhere! Cray cray! Traffic , prices, land taxes, insurance… ugh Don’t even want to be here anymore! Don’t know where y’all are from, but I bet it ain’t from here
If you moved from somewhere else, recently, im sure it’s wonderful. I was just saying how busy it is and everything gone up so much. It’s just a fact. It’s better here for many people moving here, for sure! I can’t imagine being in Florida or California or the places folks move here form. Don’t blame them. Just has become very unaffordable for me.
Family and I are booking a stay in Waynesville and Franklin in April! This will be our first N Carolina visit looking for a forever home, such a beautiful place!
Have visited Waynesville a few times when we come to the Smoky Mountains on vacation. Lake Junaluska is always beautiful. Enjoyed your video. Keep'em coming. Greetings from North Mississippi.
Great video we are headed there second Time around love seeing places that we have been to in your video and we're looking forward to trying new locations that you pointed out. Thanks
What a great showcase for this beautiful town, THIS is how you do a video about a town, no fluff! Will be visiting during Christmas this year because of THIS video (we are from Hawaii, yes, beauty comes in different flavors!!) ❤
Wow, thank you so much for your kind comments. Really glad you found the video helpful and hope you enjoy your visit! Please reach out if we can help in anyway or answer any questions for you!
I'm glad I found your video! I'll be visiting Waynesville and Asheville for the first time in October, and I'm looking forward to checking out the places you showed here. Thank you!
Hey Larry. Waynesville is our favorite town to stay in when we visit the Smoky's. Thanks for the video and for reminding us why we enjoy it so much. Keep the videos coming! Mike and Angel

A lifetime local here! Hope i run into you guys sometime. Good video! The only great food shopping thing you missed was Christipher's Produce. As I'm sure you know, that's an indoor Farmers Market that people love.
Thank you for the video, very nice Town, i want to visit the waterfalls, and also lake Junaluska, and lake Toxaway, so is it good to visit Waynesville, or Sylva ?
Both are very nice towns, but we would recommend Waynesville - Close to many waterfalls, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and right down the road from Lake Junaluska. Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed our video!
I always wondered how the Buttered Biscuit was. It looks good. I'll have to check it out next time. We always go to The Waynesville Farmers market. I talked coffee guy (where you bought the Italian Soda) about his trailer the last time I was there. I really like how he made it. I will have to try that soda next time. I will add that farm to my list next time I go. The apple orchard looks nice too. Is it off the road that takes you to Bryson City? Maybe Hwy 74? We love the Sweet Onion too. I actually did a blog post back in 2016 on the 7 Must-Try Restaurants in Waynesville, NC, and Sweet Onion is on there.
Thanks for watching! Definitely try the Buttered Biscuit. Yes, the orchard is off the same Highway to Cherokee and Bryson City, it's on the left before you reach the Parkway coming out of Waynesville.
And? How was it?!?! In October. t’s gotten so crazy up here thst I rarely go downton anywhere! Cray cray! Traffic , prices, land taxes, insurance… ugh Don’t even want to be here anymore! Don’t know where y’all are from, but I bet it ain’t from here
I heard charlotte is happening place. Why do you suppose charlotte growing so much? Companies coming in and lots of tech jobs n young people? Surely it’s not retirement folks… they are all moving to the smokies instead of florida now - or coming from florida. Lol
There are two loops, the shorter is 2.3 miles and the longer is 2.8. You can learn more here: blueridgemountainlife.com/lake-junaluska-nc/ - Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, well done. We are considering moving to the area (Colorado home prices have skyrocketed). We've been focusing on Brevard and the Cherokee/Maggie Valley area, because fly fishing for trout is probably our #1 priority. Any input?
Well, we live in Waynesville, so we're a bit partial, but it's definitely our favorite of all the options in the area. Some of the best trout fishing in Western NC is located about 15 minutes from Waynesville. Our sons are out catching large brook and rainbow trout often. Appreciate you watching and good luck on the move.

Beautiful Town.
Great Shopping.👍😊❤️
Great video. Hoping to relocate from Charlotte as soon as I can find a house to buy (that I can actually afford).
Best of luck to you - It's a wonderful place to live. Thanks for watching!

Moving to that area in one month. Going to start an animal sanctuary.
Going to stay in waynesville with the fam this month. Any recommendations??

Hi! Where exactly is the labyrinth located? Also, is there a bakery/baker in Waynesville that bakes fresh sourdough bread?
Hi, thanks for watching. The labyrinth is next to the old historic church in Lake Junaluska, just down from the hotel.
What is your favorite town around the Pisgah area? Is Clyde worth checking out?
Our favorite is Canton, but we do enjoy Clyde as well. A very quaint and small town, with a nice historic downtown area to visit.
@@Blueridgemountainlife thanks!
I love going to Waynesville, only 20 minutes away! THREE craft breweries! BOOJUM, BearWaters and Frog Level. Boojum being the best by far
