For the price he's good, but few issues mainly when transforming - my biggest gripe was the dead eyes - but the face mask comes apart really easy, its not glued or anything and eyes can be painted on their own solving this! Great vid.
The backpack on mine seems like it's seized up. I can't shift the bottom section down at all. How did you do yours? I've even removed the two screws inside but it still won't budge.
I already have the FT version but this one does have more of toon look I want. I've always said FT is an excellent mix of modern and toon. The original Takara price tag was enough for me not to swap. Rarely do I swap out a FT. But at half the price, I may just pick this one up as a spare.😊
The wheeljack shoulder gun was in mine. you may have lost it when opening the accessories tray. It was in the spot where the squares are supposed to go.
For a ko is more than meets the eye. Thanks for the review. I went for vincoror oversize version of siege Jetfire. Will be possible for you to make a review of this figure?
You can disassemble the face plate and paint the eyes. I am working on a video tutorial for that right now. The KO has metal feet which accounts for the weight difference.
15:41 Looks like you have the same issue as me with that cockpit section not wanting to clip in place. I watched emgo’s transformation of the official and it looks like the male connection point is supposed to be a separate piece, rather than molded on like the KO has. It is just too short to be able to properly clip into the female section.
I shaved a bit of plastic on the clip off. It works now. I broke the G-clip on the underside while trying to force the nose in, before I cut some plastic away.
I think the 4th party version is better for him myself and his joints were very tight and solid no paint chips all the accessories were spot on and nothing missing
got mine last week from Safari, his shoulder was broken at the butterfly joint in the box. Looks like yours doesn't want to tab together at the top of the chest in the jet mode like mine either. Hoping they can send out the part I need.
Ko seems shorter but you you know Mike i still think the siege version is the better toy . Now i kny i know its stylized but to me this jet fire is too toon accurate for its own good ! Its just to plain and a bit boring in comparison to the siege figure and now that they've ko oversized the siege figure with led light up eyes its a no brainer who the clear cut winner is .
I have my KO already & did the exact same thing by making him the Decepticon version...I haven't transformed him yet but I will say I like everything except the eyes looking dead so I used a Takara face which fits perfectly...this & the Trailbreaker KOs are 2 of the better KOs & I think the Trailbreaker is better than the Takara...this one seems to have diecast feet imo where the Takara doesn't...over time, I may put the Takara in alt mode because I do like the red paint better on the KO as well...great video Mr. Mike as always!!! F.Y.I. ShowZ has the 3Zero movie Megatron in stock along with the Beast Wars trans metal Tarantulus if u want to check them out...would love to see your thoughts on them
I tried to transform my one and cannot get the bit where the thrusters are to move they look solid almost like they have been glued solid they will not budge at all
Specific question; the KO ankle pivot seems to be limited at a smaller angle than the official - can you confirm this? Ps That outward hip rotation looks way too weak, no ?
Unlike the Takara, well from what I've seen, as I don't have it, not at AU prices, "ouch"!.... The transformation of the MP-57 KO sux. Tolerances were woeful. I found out that also, even after loosening the screws, mine was going nowhere, but then finally budged with a LOT more force than I'm comfortable with. It took a LOT to get the backpack to move on those sliders when reverting the figure as well. I found separating the backpack is a must to get those sliders to work... Well, marginally better anyway. Not closed up as I've seen some transform it, it wasn't budging on mine. Just be careful when sliding the wings sections also, The additional paint on the backpack, makes the sliders near impossible at 1st.. They shouldn't be, but they were tight also and causing problems on mine. 1st transformation and mine scratched up the red paint rather badly due to them not being able to move freely than they should, but due to the initial tolerance, left side of mine scratched up rather badly, right did as well but not as bad.. It's hidden in bot mode so that's not the end of the world. The faction logo section from the nosecone, attaching to the body, the backpack tabbing into the legs, these were not going to happen unless you trim off just a minute amount off some of the tabs. Bot mode however, I love it, and that's where it's staying. Think the FT's Phoenix, or other Skyfire's, look so much better in alt mode. MP-57, it's OK, but it just looks too bulky, unfinished and it's clunky. All goes back together nicely. Only issue. Those damn backpack sliders again. Also, reverting back to bot mode, those sliding panels for the shoulders, used to tab into the torso by sliding them out? That was also a struggle and insanely tight. Carefully applying pressure, and loosening the screw to the point that it was almost completely out, it finally budged.
Even Japanese fans know that genuine Takara Tomy products are rip-off prices. However, the Masterpiece series is not the most important product at Takara Tomy (at least among the upper echelons). The priority is product development with Hasbro. Masterpiece requires constant sales to continue the series, which is why it has ended up being an expensive product. KO is certainly inexpensive. But that doesn't include development costs, license negotiations, and other expenses, right? Everyone should also know that it is a crime to casually copy products made by others while ignoring copyright. I also want you to know that the Masterpiece development team is somehow continuing development despite their weak power within the company.
@@akiratakayama6653 i understand all that aspect of it but the parent company are also a billionaire dollar company they have the money to outdo ever third party out there. they have the distribution. they have the fanbase. they choose not too because it's about the bottom line. executives need to be paid. they reward themselves with huge bonuses like all big corporations. this is how third parties came about. i still have more mainline than ko and third parties but as a consumer of the toy since 1984 i want to be able to enjoy the toys and the mainline just produces junk after junk. anyways it's a nice insight. thanks for the reply
I got this recently. Honestly I'm very disappointed how gappy and unfinished the alt mode is. If I had paid full price for this I would be very upset. I planned to basically have it in jet mode but I think he'll just stay in bot mode forever.
I find it quite strange - STRAAAAAANGE!? - that everybody's talkin' 'bout this particular KO, yet *NOBODY'S* talkin' 'bout that oversized Siege Jetfire KO that probably had the misfortune of coming out around the same time. Like, it's a few bucks difference on ShowZ (Siege OSKO for 103 vs. MP57 KO for 125), yet I'm supposed to believe that NOBODY'S bothered to get & review the Siege OSKO?? 🤔🤨🧐🤷🏽♂️ As for that flight stand workin' so wonderfully?? Guessing that this is a different company from whoever did the Eagle MP52 Seeker KOs (supposedly Black Mamba or one of its Minions) and the 1:1 MP52 Seeker KOs (no idea), because I've heard that the flight stands for all them Seeker KOs sucked horribly. (And my Eagle EG01 Starscream's flight stand definitely sucks)
Is it just me, or does he suffer from cold dead eyes of a killer I mean jetfire? At the price I am sorely tempted but man those eyes… Alt face plate (Macross) looks great though
@@tydiriumhanger1320 How is it in hand, as it looks on screen? Are they painted at all? Perhaps the blue is just darker But still, very tempting at that price
Same here! Jet mode is the only reason I wanted the official takara version. However... The gaps/open space behind the cockpit look horrible. Fans Toys and NewAge did it the best!

I did not notice the dead eyes until you pointed it out

Other than Optimus and Soundwave, it seems that Skyfire seems to be next to have so many iterations from other companies
