  • Larry Brennan was a resident dance band leader at the Winter Gardens Blackpool, and between July 1933 and May 1935 approx. 30 records were released on the Regal Zonophone label in the UK. All these were recorded at the Tower in Blackpool rather than the Winter Gardens, possibly due to better acoustics, and the band was supported by Reginald Dixon on the organ. The "New Blackpool song Mixture" (No.1 - there were 3 more) featured 8 popular hits from the summer of 1934, and with vocals by little known Ken Beaumont, the record produced was a jolly affair very evocative of its era. In this upload I have put Part 2 before Part 1 as I tend to think this is a better order when listening to the whole medley. Recorded in Juiy 1934, a sticker on one side of the label states Sept. 1934, perhaps the date when the original owner of the record bought it!
