Can you please give some tips about how you pick a spot for carp Fishing in Lakes.
soft bottom, no rocks no grass, no snags, 6 foot deep in stained water or in may, and 8 to 12 foot deep in the summer, or if the water is very clear. In rivers its very easy, as carp hates current. They will be everywhere there is no current with the conditions above
I always try to fish close to the grass. Maybe this was my mistake. thank you.
@@tandmore-zi9mo close to is OK. but don't cast INTO grass, or they will never find it. But also in the summer they are no more close to grass.

@@ifishcatfish I will let you know. I just finished getting boat ready for fishing. I am behind and not rushing due to non stop rainy and windy days this past spring. Cooling lakes just were not accessible. I will let you know when I go. I was also waiting for Memorial weekend rush to pass by. Being retired I don't fight holiday or weekend crowds any more. Hopefully this year will bring me a 20 to 30 pound blue.

@@ifishcatfish Funny you mention bluegill fishing. I go to Cook county forest preserve to shore fish for gills on occasion. As a matter of fact I was there yesterday. Slow day. Only about 36. Last summer went several times. Caught 120 to 140 each trip. They are a blast just for fun. I will have to try at Braidwood.
This was so great I showed it to my wife. She loved it also. Naming the fish before they tossed them back......LOLOL. Well done.
in my defense, i had nothing to do with naming the fish.. kids have been doing that after watching some video : )
