I'm Canadian but I'm not delusional. Argntina will win 3-1. I really don't care though because seeing Canada defeat Venezuela was pure joy for me. At the same time, Canada's lack of finishing just proves to me that they're not in the class of Argentina, Uruguay or Colombia. To be honest, I would be surprised if we even got 3rd place. Again, I would love it but we're facing countries in which soccer is the religion that hockey is here and so it's unrealistic.

3 - nil Argentina. However, I'm feeling more confident in the new fullbacks than I did with warrior Vitoria back there. Anything is posible now. Canada might also be able to pull out a 2-1 win if Larin has an A+ game
Yeah, I’m feeling a 3-0 game as well. If Canada loses by 2 goals or less I think they will have done well. But…you never know. Upsets happen. Maybe Canada gets some opportunities and buries 1 or 2. Maybe Crepeau stands on his head and Canada defends well. Maybe Argentina gets a red card. If these teams play 100 times, Canada is going to win at least one time. I can’t imagine the adrenaline going through our systems if this goes to a shootout. And to know that the ride isn’t over even if they lose. They still will play Colombia or Uruguay which means more time together, more experience, more time to gel under Marsch. Incredible times for soccer in Canada! Also, Canada is going to receive at least $10 million USD which should help them immensely in the future. They need some home games to take advantage of the momentum they’ve created

I like Jesse Marsch. I think he was exciting coaching in England too. Congratz to Canada making it this far. This will be a massive uphill battle though. They have to outrun, outfight Argentina, be clinical and score first. It would be a humongous upset if they win. Good luck.
I like Marsch also. Never thought herdman was a good fit, and was actually happy when he moved on to toronto. The CMNT players seem to have really bought into the Marsch plan. Canada 2-1

What do you think about Argentina going long vs Canada and it working? Dibu booted it over and Messi made runs in behind, and they got big chances. Not their style, but it was vs Canada.
Argentina will walk it, but Canada have done amazing to get to the semi’s. They could argue they’re the new kings of CONCACAF, not that its saying a lot with a weak Mexico and average US team. Reaching the semi’s will give Canada a lot of confidence moving forwards.
They must get that 1st goal to change the game.
I think Larin has a role to play but I have no idea why people are treatimg his defense as irreplaceable. There are multiple midfielders who are FAR better defenders if that is what you're trying to replace, and the benefit is that you push David up so he doesn't need to defend the midfield.
Agreed! If youre starting a ST because he is good defensively that is backwards. You need to at least offer something crucial in attacking terms
A good comparison is Giroud or Firmino. Sure they were not the best finishers but their link up play brought the best out of others, thats why they started!
Well, when Marsch & most of the real top experts in the country tell you constantly how valuable Larin's defence & 2-way quality game is, plus how important his leadership & experience is, you should probably pay attention, plus he is Canada's all time leader in scoring goals.
He will definitely start & play an important role now & in the 2026 world cup too.
@@jrcanuck1 I specifically said he has a role to play, but I do not see it as a defensive specialist. We're playing Argentina not Venezuela. Having a decent defender at the front isn't going to cut it ans we are getting nothing from his partnership going forward.
Canada is a disciplined team. They're physically and mentally strong. Yet, Argentina has more experience and they can generate a quick counter-attack. If Messi plays his best, then Argentina will beat Canada 2-0. If Messi still in inactive mode, then Argentina will win 1-0 or 0-0 in 90 minutes.

I'm really happy Canada have made it all the way now to to the semi final of Copa America yes ok their performances haven't been amazing and their finishing isn't great when it comes to scoring lots of goals and yeah I really hope they get to the final but I just still have a weird feeling that we're gonna lose, but hey anything can happen in football I guess and even if we lose at least Canada can try to win that 3rd place match, I also really hope this new manager Jesse Marsch bulids a strong team for world cup 2026! 🙂❤️🇨🇦🍁👍⚽⚽

Josh, even though you said that this time, you were going to give the starting 11 that you believe that Jesse would start, you couldn't help yourself but to pick on Larin again. This time you said that lots of Canadians want an alternative to Larin; but in truth, it is mostly you who wants Larin out. You have somehow convinced your fans & your partner Alex to say the same more recently; however, if you actually listened to how much Jesse & other real soccer experts have complimented Larin's overall value of his 2-way game & winning mentality, you would have known that he should have started every game. Richie Layrea just said the same & criticized his critics & detractors in this tournament.
He is afterall, the all time top goal scorer in Canada's history, so it is only a matter of time before he scores. He made a great hockey assist on David's beautiful goal vs Peru too.
I believe that Osorio will start over Kone because his cunningness & skill in heavy traffic & his experience will be valued over youth & pace vs an experienced Argentinan team.
BTW, Canada could easily have scored 3 goals in the 1st match vs Argentina, with a bit of luck. Yes, Argentina also had great opportunities; however Crepeau is a valuable member of the Canadian team & he stopped them & could do so again in their next match.
I know that Martinez has been one of the best keepers in recent years; but remember that he was a late bloomer.
For my money, Crepeau has been every bit as good in this tournament & he is playing with a ton of confidence. I would not sell Crepeau short, should it come down to penalty kicks. Hopefully, Canada can find a way to upset Argentina either way. Go Canada!!!
