- This is a kit review of the Dragon 15 cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf B model kit in 1:35 scale. This vehicle is also known as the Bison I.
The small bins you state that "look like ammo storage" I believe are actually primer storage. The Schwere Infanterie Geschutz 33 (Sig33) used binary ammunition. The separate power charge used an impact fuse and they were made of fulminate of mercury and EXTREMELY dangerous and had to be protected and stored safely. If I had been on the crew I would have winced every time the driver hit a bump!!
I'd love to build this now. Thanks for the great review.
Another excellent review Adam!
That thing is so ugly, it's beautiful! For such a small tank they sure stuff the heck out of that box with parts. Unfortunate about the broken piece, that would irritate me too... make sure to glue the piece on the sprue itself, let set and then remove when of course you are ready to build it. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out for this one!
Cheers mate!
GeekyRocket It's a pretty intense kit for a Panzer I, I'm pretty scared of it honestly.
Every time I see the footage of that building getting blasted, I wonder what did it....,and now I know!! 😀
This thing just went to the top of the wish-list. Thanks Adam.👍
And as always a great review btw, cheers.
Awseome review, one of many kits I want to buy. I hear it's a good kit but very challenging. Hope you build it one day!
Papa Kilo 1/35 Armor I hope I build it too. It's quite a few down on my to do list.
just had to have this wee kit a real beauty got it for £30 great review Adam as always
Very good price for this one. Thanks very much.
I'd love to see an after action report on this one.
Man that's a lot of parts ... the chassis is really tinny !
so are the Tracks... good luck mate ! Dragon makes those boxings... really attractive... wish others would do the same...
Thanks for this review Adam! It made me buy this kit, and I just finished building it last week. Looks great when it's done, tiny Magic tracks go together well. Only downside is the instructions....some dumb errors with many mislabeled parts. Looking for interior colours for this vehicle though...do you know anything about possible colours used for Panzer I interiors?
I KNOW all the weight is in the hull keeping the center-of-gravity low, but that thing just LOOKS like it would fall on it's side in a strong crosswind. I want one...
Forbes Hutton Me too I just scoured Ebay and the web to no avail. If you find a source let me know.
TacticalJackalope It is an odd duck, so ridiculous it's cool.
Great model Dragon 👌👌

The "G" is for the commandeers name. That group all put G's on there equipment to show respect for there commander or something like that. I forgot the guys name.
It's to identify who the commander of the division or army group was. In this case it was Heinz Guderian.
Yes. It's funny I just saw this on the history channel but didn't get to see the hole thing. Thanks Adam for the explanation.
Great review Sir! I just ordered this kit from dragon it was on sale. Please let me know if you decide to build it I would really like to see it. it does seem a little above my ability but must try.
Would the gun be a used one or a new one attached to refurbished panzer 1 ? Great little kit will have to pick up, great reveiw. I have the siG 33 mounted to 38t chassis it is a wonderful kit you will like it if you don't already have it. Great review thanks for sharing
Adam very good review sir. I like the level of detail and the format you use to deliver the message. The part your asking about is known as the "carriage" which is what the gun is mounted to. Sometimes there is an upper and lower carriage and in modern artillery where it splits in two it is known simply as a split carriage. If I might recommend a book I think you would enjoy that I have in my library. Ian Hogg's German Artillery of WWII. It is THE tome on German artillery of the war. Each category (Field Artillery, AA artillery etc.)is broken down with a history and service record. He even explains the ammunition types and uses. It is a wonderful little book: www.amazon.com/German-Artillery-World-War-Two/dp/1853672610
TacticalJackalope Excellent Andy, I'll look up the book. Thanks for watching the review(s), It's very cool to be doing them now as I've been watching yours for a LONG time now.
Adam Mann and I am glad to see you do it!
Where can I buy this?
There's a pic of one of these rolling past a knocked out KV-2
The footage you are refering to, of them blasting the hell out if that building, is from France.
+Edward Reilly Ok.
Really like your videos, I have never built a model before but I always have wanted to.
Try it, it's a great hobby.
This vehicle was brought up in the fall of 42 in Stalingrad to help with the finalPush to take Stalingrad. Saw general Paulus riding around on one near Stalingrad.See island of fire Jason d. Mark
The conversion onto the PZ 1 Chassis was badly designed, the chassis was severely overloaded and it led to frequent breakdowns. I believe only 38 were converted but it was in service through to 1943 so would have seen a few paint jobs I guess
Adam, I own that unbuilt model as well as the MSD kit. Did you ever build the model you reviwed? I payed big bucks for that model and the builds I have seen they always go out and buy a bucnh of PE stuff, for more major bucks. Seems a little silly to go into debt to buy PE stuff. thanks
You don't need to upgrade this at all. My girlfriend started it, and so far it seems to go together well, it's just small and requires attention.
