Rambutan literally means hairy fruit - owing to the hairy skin.

about the fruit. the first food you eat is called [swʌn jeə]( use phonetic symbols to make it easy for you to read 😉)
the fruit is pickled with vinegar, pepper and sugar.dipping sauces are: chili acid vinegar water, salt and pepper.
PS:people with too much acid in their stomach may have diarrhea if they eat too much.
the red fruit is not lychee, the scientific name is :Nephelium lappaceum L.in malaysia like to call them Rambutans.

    在中国,“面、粉(米粉、河粉、米线)、粉丝”是不同的食物,虽然英语都叫做“noodle”,但是这三种食物之间的区别挺大的。
    你们吃的“老友粉”是一种河粉
The “老友粉(lao you fen)” you eat is a type of "河粉(flat rice noodles)".
The Differences Between "Noodles, Rice Noodles, and Vermicelli":
    Ingredients:
Noodles: Made primarily from wheat flour and water.
Rice Noodles (including rice vermicelli and flat rice noodles): Made from rice as the main ingredient.
Vermicelli: Made from starches such as mung bean, pea, or tuber starches like potato or sweet potato starch.
    Sensory Qualities:
    Shape:
Noodles are typically square or round strips.
Rice noodles and vermicelli are round and thread-like, with rice noodles usually being thicker.
Flat rice noodles are flat and wide sheets.
    Color:
Noodles are usually white or light yellow, with some variations made with added ingredients.
Rice noodles, rice vermicelli, and flat rice noodles are typically white and semi-translucent.
Vermicelli tends to be nearly transparent.
    Texture:
Noodles are generally chewy and springy.
Rice noodles and vermicelli have a smooth, slippery texture and are easier to bite through.
