I have a set of those exact Sonys. Honestly they’re not as bad as they look despite being a single driver with a port disguised as a tweeter. The port length actually seems correct on these, though you need a bass boost to hear it. I built a portable speaker with those drivers and a 10 wpc amplifier board from a cheap Bluetooth speaker: not the best bass but surprisingly good vocal quality and treble, and that thing got LOUD! The drivers somehow survived an hour of dance music on max volume. Thanks to you, I know the limits of these speakers and how hard they can be pushed! That port is actually attached to the front grill, not the box. The front grill is attached with pins and a very small amount of weak glue, and there’s a little spot to pry it off on the bottom edge. Drivers are a 4 inch with pretty standard screw position, so I actually like them for projects.
That motor fed with bass was hilarious
motor-subwoofer ha ha ha steel
