I was going through a rough period in my life. I had just been laid off and was on unemployment. At the time I signed up for Amway and my sponsor would call me at 5:30AM every morning. I had a bad attitude when he called, I was laid off and couldn't see my future and it was 5:30AM! One day he called and said "I'm disappointed in you, when are you going to change your attitude? You wake up with a bad attitude, which pretty much explains why you're having a lot of bad days. I hate that about you, you have so much potential."
Now that cut me deep, I don't like anybody - thinking I'm something but I'm acting like I'm not. So the next morning I flip the script. Watch what happens next. @@LonjeMarie7 naps are essential. We as people have shifted our sleep pattern. We really should be sleep by 8 but daylight savings and etc have effected that as well. The sun plays a big roll in it. Our brains go into sleep mode at a point at night effected by the moon of some sort .

I’ve started getting up at 5:30am and going to bed at the time I used to have back in jr. high school, at 9:30pm. I can honestly say it’s made a difference in my attitude and my relationship with God; now let me get off and go have a talk with myself.

This is something God's been dealing with me about. Not only waking up with the right attitude but having a serving attitude when I get to work. I can get side tracked because I don't like my work environment and it can be challenging for me to go to work. Although I don't miss any days, I minus well because my attitude isn't right. how did it go?
Hey! I forgot about this comment and had to think back on where I was emotionally and mentally 2 years ago which was a very difficult season in my life. I had finally moved pre-pandemic from my hometown to another state and was attempting to create my own life and achieve the success I’ve always envisioned - being home brought about a depression that made me feel weighed down because I was taking on the energy of others in the household (constant sadness, illnesses, not receiving much encouragement outside of what someone else thought I should do, not much opportunity for professional development or good pay etc.) …while also trying to work hard to become something (I did the best I could to save save save/worked multiple jobs because I knew eventually I would have to take a leap of faith)- there was a cap to what I could achieve in a small military town around others who are very comfortable and content (for example I lived my grandfather who’s retired military in his 70s and my younger sister who was consistently sick - first was experiencing mental health issues then diagnosed with cancer after I had left). I left… and things were starting to work for the better slowly but surely. Mid pandemic I had to move back home and I felt like that was a set back to all I was beginning to accomplish. I wasn’t nasty or rude to anyone intentionally but I absolutely couldn’t fake the funk about me feeling uncomfortable and feeling stuck “again”. The uncomfortable feeling was something in my body I couldn’t explain and I was extremely depressed. In retrospect, I’ve grown tremendously and now know that seasons such as the past comment I made were used to prune me and grow me for what’s ahead in my life. I’m much more intentional now about all areas of my life and I also cherish my family and time spent with them even though my vision for my life (which does not exclude them - I think about my family all the time) and career goals may not make much sense or what they’d prefer me to do (be home and a teacher or work in a dentist office - not to knock those positions but that’s success to my grandad). I’ve learned that I can’t control anything external but I can gracefully choose how to respond. A lot of my frustration came from feeling misunderstand but it was when I began to understand myself and not point the finger that I truly grew. I’m back grinding out of state like how I was pre-pandemic but I also lost my sister to cancer when I was back home last year - I believe that trying time was Gods way of pushing me back home because that would be the last moments I would spend with my sister. I just checked the date of this video - I actually was a few months away from taking that leap of faith and leaving home for the first. Still the same feelings as what I wrote above

I had two friends like that exactly. I was in high school and it was exam day in Theatre Class.
I failed three projects and those things got me stuck in mud.

I love this post. And guess what every time I wake up before I do my job, I watch your video. It gives me goosebumps. So, I started my push-ups again, I smiled after brushing my teeth, and also changed my approach to the greeting, in a cheerful way.
I stopped it because I was getting lazy and it was influencing my work day. I remember that sometimes I had really bad days, sometimes happy days.
When you wake up in a good mood, no matter what happens, you will stay focused and zen in your mind; and it is very very efficient to work, do your regular activities or even some new projects.
Man, I love you and I love all the advice you give to people. I am very far from you but since I started following you, guess what, I have applied most of your advices. And I found something new in my life.

Myself and my best friend have depression and we have for a while now, everyday same story we meet up...

Nothing ever changed because we never changed.

About 8 years ago i was a homeless, before i meet my girlfriend we starting living in a room, i always keep my mind positive even when bad stuff was happening to me, i always wake up positive, one day my girlfriend asked me" why you wake up so happy everyday"? I said there is no reason to be sad, even when sometimes i had nothing to eat i was happy because i was working i was healthy and i have enough to provide for my family... thanks steve i feel so identified with this motivation video

Wow, this touched me. I'm not much of a morning person either. I've been told that my attitude wasnt the best because of this very reason. I'm always looking to groom myself and make me a better person. This video was needed.
One thing that greatly changed my life. Literally my entire life. Every single morning i wake up and the very first thing i think of before i even get out of the bed is something good i have in my life, even if its summin as simple as i got a best friend that answers any time i call e m. The second thing i think of is what do i want to do todat and how am I gonna do it. I swear changed my life. I used to be one of those people whefe every day was horrible and woe is me. I was that guy and finally, the person i know call my sister, told me just like that and the same thing it stabbed me so deep and it opened my eyes. Now in almost 2 years i havent had a single bad day since. It really is true. Ur morning attitude really does determine how ur life will go

Amen to that when you're attitude is positive you intend to feel that same way and positive things indeed come through but when your negative you attract negativity 💯💯 so always be positive towards everything

Wow. I needed to hear this today. I have been unemployed for almost a year due to the pandemic and I started to become more and more negative. I claim that everyday I will wake up and change my attitude. No longer focusing on Instagram but myself.

Ive been waking up close to the afternoon for YEARS now til about this year...ive noticed that i just DONT LIKE waking up at damn near 3pm everyday!!! Because i could be doing so many other things like reading...or hell even watching Tv...maybe journaling...idk something!! I used to have a terrible attitude in the mornings. Especially if I didnt eat breakfast (LAWD) I'm still breaking out of it but I'm getting there. We are really blessed to have virtual mentors like Steve
