So many great books. I have that same Ringworld 3rd print but its in pretty bad shape, I really like it and hope to find a better copy at some point. Stargate, yeah, just let me know when, maybe later this year. My next Poul will either be Brian Wave or The Broken Sword.
Nice Ringworld! I picked up an Alison Sinclair the other day, different one, I'd never heard of her either. Nice Silverberg find with that Gilgamesh, and the folio looks great too. Big Planet was a fun read. Great haul there Matt, I approve! 😀📚👽🔫👍
Hi, just some notes: Next Stop, the Stars is Silverberg's first collection of stories. I recently read Godling, Go Home!, his second. It was pretty rough. Starhaven is Silverberg and as far as I know the only time he used the pseudonym. I have the same edition. Gilgamesh the King is excellent, as is another of Silverberg's non-SF: The Lord of Darkness. Yes, I'm a Silverberg nut. Thanks for the video. :)
Loving these books! Lots of books and planes can be interesting. I had my bag checked by security because they thought all my books were boxes of salmon. 🤣 I need to read my copy of The Space Vampires to see how close of an adaptation “Lifeforce” is.
Looks like a great haul. Here in the Bay Area a lot of the library support groups have decided that mass-market paperbacks are "below them" and they go straight to recycling. It makes me absolutely crazy!!! In some they still put them out; in a bargain bin, out front, in the weather.😢
@@sciencefictionreads that's great news! The way things are here has driven my buying and reading style: Instead of carefully curating the nicest editions of things like OB ( @outlawbookselleroriginal ) does, I pride myself on rescuing the greatest number and troll for getting them at the lowest prices. After all if I was just buying them online there would be no hunt. . . (Of course this leads to crazy moments like:" I refuse to buy that online for $10! It should cost no more than $6, and every other book in the series I've gotten was $2 each!) Yes, I've become that guy.🤷♂️
I have the same Vance double with the Magnus Rudolph stories. I liked most of the stories. The character is usually hired to solve a problem on a far-fetched world.
@@sciencefictionreads want to read another of his too. I wrote my own sci-fi comedy novel too. Will promote on my channel in a while! Keep up the work.
I am a little excited about getting The Man in the Maze and Epic of Gilgamesh. This will be my first time reading a Sci Fi Novel. 🤗I really can't wait to read the first one, especially, but according to the reviews the second one might be better. I will see....

I loved The Man in the Maze, hope you enjoy it too. I am going to try and find a copy of Stargate here in the UK.

The Disch / Le Guin is a great Ace Double. ‘No Blade of Grass’ is also a great, dark apocalypse. Love the cover art on ‘A Specter is Haunting Texas’.

I love those Connie Willis books! Time travel is one of my favorite tropes, even if it's nonsensical.
We might never know ;)
One of my favorites too!
I'm going to keep my eye out for Stargate. You've sold me.

Salmon smuggling!😆Yeah at the time I filmed this i didn't know there was an adaptation. I still haven't watched it, but i did enjoy the book, mostly.
I can't wait for the Space Vampires book review!! ❤

Willis' To Say Nothing of the Dog is an homage to an old book by Jerome K. Jerome called Three Men in a Boat. Both great fun!
Good to know, Thankyou!

Thanks for the info! I do tend to like those kind of characters and stories.
I’ve been thinking about you and your wife and wondering how you’ve been.
Sending love❤️
Thankyou so much. We are doing okay, slowly getting back to a new normal.
I think my favorite Ringworld cover is Ringworld's Children by Stephen Martiniere.
Epic. Iain Banks is pretty sweet too.
Yes! Love the Culture books!

I hope you enjoy your entry into Science Fiction! I'm looking forward to both those books.
