Clarksville is once again the site of the annual Columbia Concert Band Winter Concert! This year’s concert includes modern band repertoire and fresh takes on holiday classics alongside some very intense selections from the midcentury Wind Ensemble canon. The ensemble rises to the occasion, featuring a bevy of soloists in brilliant execution backed by the incredible whole membership of the band.
The Columbia Concert Band is a group of approximately 90 musicians. We rehearse weekly and perform about five concerts per year. Our repertoire consists of many different musical styles, including traditional band arrangements, classical, contemporary, pop/rock, marches, jazz, Broadway, Americana, and baroque.
Founded in 1983, the Columbia Concert Band provides local musicians the opportunity to perform challenging band literature while entertaining the public in the Baltimore and Washington region. The band is affiliated with Howard Community College, which gives credit to students for band participation.
