I would pick the 56" all day long over the 72". Like you said, they are the same exact box without the 16"-end section built in, but for DOUBLE the price. ($899 vs. $1799). That makes zero sense. For the extra $900 the 72" costs, you could get the 56" box (900) top hutch (500), AND add a 16" Series 3 end cabinet to it when they arrive in the stores and still save probably $200 That 72" box should be more like $1199 in my opinion. (Even then, I would still opt for the 56.)
Gotta remember thats the starting price point for the 72inch series 3 i believe it will go down in price over time but yes ur right about the 56inch series 3
They trying to milk the hype. The pricing is ridiculous on these and they will lose a lot of sales to their target market if they keep the prices at these levels. I am in the market for a box but I will live out of tool bags until the end of my days if this is what the pricing is going to be like.
@@ragincajungarage the only real difference is the bank of small drawers on the left and the 56 is half the price if you need more space down the road they will have a side cabinet you can add
Geez that blue looks so good! People dont understand how hard it is to work a tape measure and hold a camera 😂. I know cuz i tried it. Thanks for the video been looking for someone showing it in blue because im actually considering getting rid of my snap on classic but i think the us general is just not deep enough.
My local HF has this box also, with a grey 72 next to it. I’m torn between the grey and white color with the top box. Can’t wait for the side lockers also.
i think im sold, i was looking at the 72 but id rather the 56 with the hutch and another 56 next to it with a nice piece of wood to use as a workbench, that blue looks awesome as well, my snap on roll cart i hate to say it has almost as much slop in the drawers as this when its empty, seemed to get better when i loaded it up with tools, maybe this will do the same
There both soild options for the money and u can get either in the blue the only thing lacking in the us general toolbox is the depth of the drawers wish they were alittle deeper front to back but for the price its worth the money
I just bought this one today same color blue and black..... 750 for the bottom and 499 for the top.... Only down side is it takes 2-4weeks to come in =( but its okay itll be way worth it
What is the advantage or purpose of the top hutch? Just storing stuff in there to lock it up when done for the day? Maybe getting an end cabinet would be better? Seems like a nice toolbox. It seems as though getting a 56' box with a side cabinet would be a good deal. How much deeper are the drawers of the 72' box as compared to the 56"?
The only difference from the 72 to the 56 is the the third bank of drawers i have plans to buy the top chest later for my series 2 and i wanted the hutch for the series 3 and maybe a side locker but the 56inch series 3 drawer layout is the same for the 56 and 72
I don't understand the point of the hutch. You're just paying for empty space. I need storage, not empty space. The top tool box makes way more sense, at least to me.
WTF HARBOR FREIGHT ?!?!?!?!?! The price for this box infuriates me. I could have bought two of these for very little more then the 72 I just bought. No way those little drawers on the end cost that much more money. I hate to admit it now but I really do like the box.
While there are similarities to the 56 and the 72. There are some differences from both boxes. The casters are different on each box. You're also paid for the extra space on 72
@@ragincajungarage I agree to a point but it’s still way too far apart price wise. Those HD casters and small drawers aren’t worth almost double the cost. I hate to even admit how much I like my 72 now.
Is there a reason why people shake the drawers like that? I've had 3 toolboxes . Each bigger than the last and I've been looking at this box as the widest box I've ever owned. I've never seen anyone or any of my mentors shake down their drawers. Not when purchasing, definitely not when working, and I just can't figure this out? It comes out, it goes in, it handles weight and it locks. Sounds good to me. What does shaking it do?
any idea how many square inches of drawer storage this has? im stuck between this 56 box and the KRSC46 from snap on because I get the student discount. cubic inches really don't mean squat but that's the only measurement they show whereas snap on shows 4,392sq inches on the KRSC
Im thinking about getting the red tomorrow with the 25 percent off coupon! I was also going to see if I can apply for the credit card and stack the 10 percent off. 35 percent off would be awesome!
@KDEngineRevive that would be cool but unless the coupon is the no exclusion coupon I dont think u can use it on the toolbox i could be wrong worth the try
Do we know what the width of the bottom 4 drawers are? I was already to learn and then.... nope. He measured everything else, but not the width of the 4 lower drawers. 🙂. Great video!!
As of right now from what i have been told the series 3 end lockers and end cabinets wont be out till the fall but u can get with ur local harbor freight to see if they have the series 2 end locker or cabinet all series 3 is backwards compatible with series 2 hope this helped you out and thanks for watching
