You know why I hate to go to lawyers and and CPA's, because they get ''All Up In Yo' Business''. I love this channel Aiden is very smart, funny and very genuine. Good people attract good people! You go Aiden!
Eloquently Spoken #AllUpInYoBusiness Appreciate you taking the time to share more of your wonderful knowledge about trademarks and how to effectively trademark!
If I plan to open my business in one week, would it make sense to still file an intent to use form today? In other words, do several days matter doing some thing first is often important.
Question, so when we use the intent to use application, it stops anyone from using your name? Although you don’t have the specimens ready yet? Correct?
I am the manager of a single member Llc. I am currently in the process of purchasing the llc from the current owner and I will be the only member owner of this llc. Can you do a video on what types of things automatically transfer with the llc like: credit, accounts, tax status, operating agreements, debts. As well as what has to be redone. Any information you could think of would be helpful. Love your videos. Thanks
So is there an additional fee to actually register it after the intent to use process? Also how would this apply for someone looking to start a film production company? how would I show proof of usage
Ok so when I apply to an “intent to use “ will I have to pay the full price again when im ready to switch to an Trademark or just pay the difference? Hope this make since
In theory, if I just had my mocked up designs on my computer because my business won’t be up and running until 3-4 months, could I just get plain products and print on the words I want to trademark and claim that the word/logo is already in commerce ? lol
Helena Lohman which is vital. And nothing people should stress whatsoever. Because regardless, you have the leverage of starting the process first and once you start selling, you’re money will help you out even more. This comment was for the guy above!
There's no additional cost when you file the application, but with intent-to-use, you will have to file a Statement of Use later on to provide the USPTO with a specimen of how the mark is being used, and there's a fee (currently $100) when you file the Statement of Use.
Why is everybody keep repeating the same thing? Stop with all the indirect information. How can you find the Intent to use application? People do a real good job on trying to confuse the directness of something really simple.
It's the same filing fee as a current use application (starts at $225) but the USPTO charges another fee, I think it's $125, when you file the Statement of Use or request an extension to file. That's typically the only difference in cost.
180 Law Co. LLC it says you need a serial number on the “ intent to use application “ ?? Do I have to wait till the publication in newspaper is done ? So with the intent to use do they see if the brand is taken ??
How do companies go about changing their trademarks? I ask because I have noticed some companies will change their marketing strategies and come out with a new logo. Now that I am thinking about it, maybe I am asking the wrong question - are logos and trademarks the same thing or just similar?
Brand names and logos are what you trademark so other people cant use the same name or logo on their product or service. Trademarks protect you. Logos are what customers recognize and associate with your product... so they know rather to buy again or avoid buying again.

What are the cost differences? Do you have to pay extra for intent to use?

Online filing is $100 and the paper application filing is $200. Simple!
