It would be good if catching bait was always that easy. The barra were a lot of fun to catch in the shallow water. Thanks heaps for your support. Take care!👍
Thanks for the video. Haven't seen a net full of poddy mullet in a long time. Nice to see a bit of the old barra action again. Lookin' forward to your next adventure.
Can't go wrong with a net full of barra lollipops out on the flats. Great to see quality barra are ready for the catching. Well done and thanks for another quality video mate. Can't wait until it cools down a bit cause the heats been relentless this summer.
It is great to see lots of bait and bigger fish in the river system. I will enjoy a few meals of fresh barramundi for sure. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Cheers!
What sort of rig is that mate for live bait , is the hook about a foot above the sinker on its on line so it can move around , thanks for the vid too was awesome
Wow good cast Mate - my dream one day is to catch a Barra- I cannot eat River or Farmed as they have a weird taste to me. I want a a fresh sea Barra if there is such a thing hahahaha. Cheers Denise- Brisbane
Hi , just a few quick questions , firstly your new casting net seems to be working a treat , is it better than your old one, those barras certainly put up a fight and are you in danger of getting taken by a crocodile when your on an open beach like that. Anyway great video as always and two thumbs up , Cheers Jaime.
The new cast net is excellent but not necessarily better than the last couple of nets I have used in the videos. There is always a risk of crocodiles in the waterways and along the beaches of North Queensland. It is important not to become complacent regardless of how familiar we are with an area. Thanks for your question. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!👍
I prepared Garlic Basil Barramundi Skillet with Tomato Butter. Just kidding that would be far beyond my cooking abilities. I simply crumbed fillets of the fish and had it with a fresh salad, perfect. Thanks heaps for your comment. Take care!👍
It was great to catch some decent fish. The bigger of the two fishing reels is a Penn Clash II and small reel is a Daiwa Exceler, both good reels. Thanks heaps for your comment. Cheers!👍
Fishing can definitely be hard work at times for little reward. However, even when it is tough it is still good being outdoors giving it a try. Thanks heaps for your comment. Cheers!👍
Hi Brad. What area are you in? I am familiar with the Mud Crabbers in the Gulf on MacArthur River but interested to know your area and river system. Great Barra and nice muddies as well. Get muddies where I am at Corindi Beach near Coffs, but not as big as yours
@@returnoutdoors2210 Thanks for reply. You are an awesome crabber. Spent a lot of time fishing with mate Garth in Airlie Beach as my ex wife moved there from 2006- 2012 with my two boys. Enjoy your vids and cook ups. Patrick
Hahaha…bucket o’ death. Ok to keep one now and then. Couple years ago after serious nick necking a fish I switched to Black Panthers for all future commissions to the Esky of redemption. Lot safer.
The Black Panther scissures are a much safer option prior to introducing a fish to the Bucket of Death or Esky of Redemption. Thanks heaps for your suggestion and comment. Cheers!👍
Barra always put on a good show when hooked and seem to go a bit harder in shallow water. The legal minimum size in Qld to take a Barramundi is 58cm. I let a fish go that was just over the legal size as I already had a couple of good fish. Thanks heaps for your comment. Cheers!👍
I appreciate you checking in. All is good and I will have a new video on this weekend. The weather has been a bit tricky with extreme heat or rain, so opportunities to get out when the tides are suitable have been rare. Hope all is going well for you! Thanks again, Brad
😁 Nothing beats a Sunday arvo fishing the Interwobble with an awsome fishing guide. Thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed the video. I greatly appreciate your comment. Take Care!👍
Thanks Brad. Nice size Barra. New casting net still doing great. that was a great cast with lots of live bait. cheers.

Hi mate any chance you could do a howvto on your cast net throwing, you make it look so easy
I sure can do a demonstration video on the technique I use to throw a cast net. Thanks for the suggestion!👍
What sort of rig is that mate for live bait , is the hook about a foot above the sinker on its on line so it can move around , thanks for the vid too was awesome
It is a Dropper / Paternoster rig with the hook set about 30 / 40 cm from the sinker at the bottom. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!👍
Wow good cast Mate - my dream one day is to catch a Barra- I cannot eat River or Farmed as they have a weird taste to me. I want a a fresh sea Barra if there is such a thing hahahaha. Cheers Denise- Brisbane
Fresh barra is definitely a great tasting fish. Cheers, Brad.

Awesome as usual mate. How did you cook up that Barra?
I prepared Garlic Basil Barramundi Skillet with Tomato Butter. Just kidding that would be far beyond my cooking abilities. I simply crumbed fillets of the fish and had it with a fresh salad, perfect. Thanks heaps for your comment. Take care!👍
@@returnoutdoors2210 you had me there for a second 😂
Beautiful fish, nice to see you releasing them too, can I ask what reel you are using, the clutch on them are fantastic

Great stuff mate👍
Glad you enjoyed the video!👍
U did alright mate we spent 4 hrs last wknd to get 8 mullet

Hey mate, just wondering what pound line do you use?
When live baiting in the rivers I usually use line that is 10/15 kg. Thanks for your question. Cheers!👍

No mobile logs where you were fishing?
There is always the possibility of a crocodile while fishing any beach or waterway in Northern Australia. Thanks for your question. Cheers! 👍

Have you ever fished tge shoals out the front of the haughton?
I spent many years running fishing charters and would often launch from Townsville and fish that area. Thanks for your question. Cheers 👍
@@returnoutdoors2210 what depth do you find the best area to look at would be?
Bro here in india, fisherman' cast their nets on the shore , i cannot do rod fishing from the shore
Thanks for your comment. I was not aware of these difficulties fishing from the shore in your country. Take care!👍
Man those fish don't play around. Do they have to be 60" to keep?
