This is an old video but, to anyone interested in doing this swap. It would be much less of a headache to go with a VHR bottom end/block with HR heads up. This would just take an "HR Swap" harness and would retain all gauge controls, speedometer, and would not require the 370z pedals etc. Just wanting to throw that information out there.
Note VVT is nissan vtec. VVEL is a add on top of VVT which is like IVTEC. VVT is on all vq but stages. De is exhaust only. Rev up is intake side and exhaust. HR has both but lacks VVLE. VHR has all 3. Which completely closes the manifold thru the module controlled by the ecu and secondary ecu
So motor trans and harness and ecu with tune, as well as mounting hardware, what else? How the bcm cope with the VHR motor, what else needs to be taken, been hearing that there’s more electronics to this then there is even mentioned.
So the way people do these swaps always varies depending on wiring and the harness that was made for the swap. My harness was made to act more as a standalone with a stock 370z/G37 Ecu. My 350z bcm is still 350z stock bcm. However it does not communicate with the 3.7 ECU.

@@carlosz3386 does your vhr 350z have a custom turbo kit? Every hr swapped vq I’ve ever seen is just that, swapped for an extra 15 hp and ig likes, imo it’s not worth the time and money, if it’s an NA drift build I guess it’s cool u can get 330 hp after FBO, but the only way to put a turbo on a hr swapped vq you have to go through the trouble of getting a fabricated turbo kit, which is more time and money vs buying a turbo kit that is already meant for ur car saving a headache. I’ve seen people spend up to 9k on a hr swap to go from 250 whp to 270 whp, with that money could’ve bought a turbo kit and made 400+ not saying you spent that everyone spends different.
Hey bro I have an awd g37 and I’m trying to swap the engine from it to a 2006 350z im trying to use most of the parts from the g37 but do you know I will need anything besides the things you just listed on the video ? Also the g37 has an automatic trans so can I still use the drive shaft from the z

DE actually only has vvt on intake side btw but everything else you said is accurate
I cannot tell you how much i needed this UA-cam page I’m getting ready for my swap and I’m taking notes
Glad we can help 💪🏻
Damn, ill just save up for a 370, hella work
Pretty Cool I have Vortex Supercharger set and VHR swapped 06
Can't wait to get started on my G bro 💪🏽
Great summary!

TOTAL COST: 4700 plus labor
you're welcome
Thank you 😂
Thank you bro let’s get things started 🤤

Also in the beginning stages of my videos for the swap I go a little bit more into detail on the actual things I needed wiring wise.

I’m vhr swapping my 350z hr right now I’m on the wiring part just wanted to see what I need
Do you remember how difficult it was or no?
why would you go through the time and money to get an extra 15 hp, just use that money for a turbo on your already in engine.
@@DEATHWISHVQ who said I didn’t have the turbo already. Just wanted to do something different lmfao

Well explain thanks for the info

What was the parts number for Tachometer for the OBD2 or the name
Do you still have HVAC and if so how does it work? What did you do to get past nats and how does bcm functions work?
Deleted all of that. I got tuned and delete NATS from my Ecu.
Bro, I’m ready to start my vhr swap but I need help with wire harness
hype
hey man im sorting out parts right now, i heard about the cluster but a gas pedal? no body said i need a gas pedal for this swap lol.
You do if you are fully swapping a VQ37VHR into it.
Is it possible to do a VQ37HR swap on a 03Nissan pathfinder R50 with stock 5speed on it? Really appreciate anyones opinion and insight
Anything is possible with the right amount of money lol
Might sound stupid, but can I swap this motor in a FWD 4th gen Altima ? Or should I just stick to the vq35 out the Maxima?
Altima is a 6 speed btw
What other engine amd transmission could i put in 2105 altima if its possible
Have to change anything with the driveshaft ?
Stock 350z manual driveshaft works perfect
Can I use a g35 manual transmission bolt up to the g37 motor
No , need the jk tranny
I have a 08 Nismo. Would the current transmission bolt up to a VHR?
Yes it should
What about the oil pan ain't the block bigger on the hr?
Block has higher displacement on the VHR as it’s a 3.7. In a sense of actual size they are about the same size.
@@sleeplessperformance thanks bro
What about 2008 g35 sedan?
Can you use a stock DE transmission
No you cannot
Where do I get a parts car from
Hey man! are you able to use the cd009 for the vhr?
Unfortunately no, you need to use a JK transmission out of the G37/370z or late model 350z 07-08 HR models.
@@sleeplessperformance darn :( thanks for the prompt response
Does the 350z gearbox cd009 bolt up the the 370z engine?
no, hr/vhr use jk not cd
Any cheaper alternative for a custom harness engine harness?
Did u find out bro, I'm doing the swap rn and trying to sort out electrical side.
@knockoutr6864 me too man. This is my first ever engine swap and I'm confused
Hexa garage makes a harness
Would it be the same for g35 Sadan?
Roughly about the same
it should be the same and if not easier due to having more engine space
Can you run it with a CD009?
No you cannot
Its really needed the gas pedal?
Yeah
To my knowledge you need it. Maybe you can figure out wiring on ur stock pedal but idk for sure.
Currently trans are 1000-1700
Wrong go to any major city they walk around for free
Can you just swap the engine to a vhr and the harness? On a de
What brand is the front lip and where did y’all get it from ? And sick video bros keep it up 🤘🏻
Hey what’s up man, it’s just an INGS style 06-08 lip from eBay
@@miguelgaleno1172 do you have a link to it ?
I don’t, it is just a generic one from eBay. Search Ings style 06-08 lip
Uhhh labor?
Considering I did it myself that part was free lol.
@@sleeplessperformance are you a mechanic, or can someone who is just decent at working on cars able to go the swap you think ?
Street legal?
Yes sir
Can I order the full swap from you?
Unfortunately we do not have a parts car at the moment to take the drivetrain from
Total 4700 parts plus labor. Its cheaper to just get a 370z
I’ve never seen a 370z under 5k but you may be right
Shipping cost to alaska kills this swap for me and parts cars don’t exist up here 😭
