THANK YOU JIM! Master Problem Solver!
Hi Lon The sign you sent me is hanging up in my office.I hope all is well.Thank you for stopping by.
Why does my honda accord 2010 only 60k such low mileages but already have a bad wheel bearing?
At 18:30. (Off camera to answer phone).. Mom! In making a video!. No. It's not the neighbors truck... No I can't!!. .......I cant fix his squeak if he dosent bring it in.....well tell him to get lost... no I dont need a cat.....alright mom..gotta go.........yes..I'll take some cookies.. .. .(long pause..speaks quietly) ...chocolate chip......bye mom....I love you too....bye.
What's the tools needed for that job
Thank you Jim for another excellent video with lots of necessary, helpful details.
I have several OTC pullers. Great American tools. Hydraulic press with the right apparatus works great, too, but you'll need a lathe to machine the parts you'll need.
An involved bearing R&R, but so many newer cars have this style now. I sure do miss the old days of being able to clean and repack the bearings during brake rotor service.
Hahaha your showing your age. Most young mechanics don't even know how to do that.
I have crackling noises coming from my front end the Honda dealership said it don't have experience mechanics on hand for that job they don't know if it's the shocks or the bearings how do you determine what it is?
Does anyone know if the OTC Hub grappler is available to rent?
Some big parts store do rent tools but you will need to ask. Were are you located?
Since I don't own a car like this I skipped ahead but I picked up on a few tips. I like the race splitting tip using the wide chisel. I always watch and learn something here, thanks Jim and see you soon. Can't wait. :)
Hi Wyatt,Yes that work great but don't cut to deep.See you soon it should be interesting to say the least.Hahaha
After seeing this they need to just make the entire assembly even if it’s expensive it will save so much time
They do! Rockauto!
How much would a job like this cost? Looks too complicated for me lol
hello I know this video Is quite old but I was wondering which otc kit was used for this bearing replacement? I specifically own an 09 honda accord and was curious which otc kit to purchase or which would be best to purchase in general I could bring the vehicle to a shop but I much prefer diy!
Thanks for showing the how to’s to replace it. But i have a question. Do you really need to align the wheels after you replace it? As i’ve seen it you did not require wheel alignment as replaced.
You do know you can save alot of tine just removing the mounting bracket only. You dont need to remove the caliper guide bolts. Js
Well that's just great!! Thanks to this video I know exactly how, but no damn tools to do it with. Great vid, thanks Jim!!
Jimmy excellent job and video you act talk and do work like a mechanic !! I do the biggest part of my mechanics. I have had mechanic to asked me tell me to tell him what was wrong with it and they would fix it ! Had to think why did I bring it here if I knew I would have fixed it myself love your video!!!
Jim, that was an outstanding video tutorial. Thanks for the education (and the links!). I Liked it and Subscribed. Have a good one!
Great work mr. Jim I wish alot of mechanic had your brains but they don't. I know lots of people need their vehicles fixed
Ml PM
How much would you charge for this job ? ......because the otc 6575 is about 500 dollars. Is there any other, more affordable tool option for this same job?
The labor charge for this job is 2-2.5 hours .There is cheaper tools but with the OTC it is very good quality
Yeah, I don't think I'll tackle this myself, don't have the tools but the rears are much easier and doable. Boy, wish you were in California
Hahaha I wish I was in California also. Thanks for watching.
13:15 - TSB: OTC 6295 superseded by BFH. Carry on.
Jim, you have done good Job It is alot work Specialy When needed Special. Tools , Thank you. Jim
Why can't you remove the the hub and the bearing at the same time if they come out in the same direction and replace them both?
Because of snap ring, which is between bearing and hub.
Jim, why didn't you use the right tool? Joking- excellent video. Learned lots about how to remove bearings and what tools to use. Thanks
You are right I could use a bigger hammer.:)Thank you for stopping by.
another awesome video, thanks
Thank you for stopping by I hope all is well
That is a complicated job and you made it sound so easy. The kits you have for replacing the bearing is great, and I would want one if I was doing work on vehicles all the time.
It looks easy but remember I have done thousands of them but with this kit from OTC its a lot easier.
Great video, Jim! I think you said you live in NY. Is NY a good state for a small business? Are taxes high? Just wondering. Thanks!
Actually I'm in New Jersey. And they tax us to death.Thank you for stopping by
good job Jim, I needed a refresher course, getting ready to do a Suzuki Aeiro SX front and back, i also do bearings in pairs.
Thank you for stopping by
Awesome video❤
Thanks for the visit
Nice job Jim and I use the same OTC kits. They make the job easier & faster for sure! It's amazing how lights just fly on their own!
The lights flying is like magic.Hahaha
That was a great video, Jim besides of the good explanation and step by step how to fix it.
Thank you berry much for sharing this with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
This repair is near impossible to perform on the car without the Hub Grappler. Thanks Jim for a full demonstration and repair.
Your right it is easier with the hub grappler. Back before the OTC Hub Grappler you needed a press to do them.
What if the axle was stuck?
Awsome good man .left tiered how to replace
Thank you for stopping by
Great explanation of pressing a bearing. Really enjoyed it!
Thank you for stopping by I'm happy to share my knowledge.
One of the little retaining screws got stripped bad so instead of drilling it out (I was already replacing the whole wheel/bearing and knuckle assembly with everything pressed) I just got a rotor, slapped it onto the assembly, and just bolted it on after the old one came off!
good job
