I would like if you would say maybe where you get the stuff from and how to get the cool bowl you have . Thanks for the nice shave video and keep on shaven on !!!

I use a Feather as d2 with these same razors. I almost never knick myself. Almost. Dang things are sharp as heck! Thinking of a Merkur 33c with a moderate aggression for future use with a blade that doesn't penalize. The AS-D2 just doesn't get close enough for me. Even with that feather blade. I'll eventually get the right razor/blade combo.

I had a days growth and put it on setting 7. I started out on 3 as it looks like what you used it at but I normally shave with the future at a setting 3 which is about the same as a 7 on the beauty. for me the more aggressive the lighter touch I use which keeps the irritation away , on the flip side the less aggressive the heavier my hand seems to get and then things get all messed up.

I'm new to wet shaving and I used a feather blade in my AS-D2 for the first time this morning. Face shave and head shave with only two small nicks. One of those nicks (on the back of my head) was from trying a different blade 3 days ago. That was the results of a fresh Perma Sharp blade. It was a blood bath. Yesterday, I used a Personna Prep. Nice! My first time shaving my head I used an Astra. I wussed out and used my Rex Ambassador dialed down to 1.5. Those were good shaves but nothing like I get from the Personna Prep's. The feather blade was OK but for the money I'll stick with Personna Prep's and Personna 'Comfort Coated'. Not only do the Personna's give really nice shaves, they also are Made In The U.S.A.
I'll keep working on my technique and maybe I can use the Astra's full time (they are considerably less expensive, $0.08 vs $0.35.

A feather blade, is dang sharp. The best way to approach using one, is to have a few years of DE shaving technique built up. A light touch and smooth strokes are the key. As well as a good prep before your shave. I use a Bigfoot Shaves Razor and either a Lord or a Feather blade.

Thanks for the video. Feather blades tend to irritate the heck out of my neck.
As unlikely as it may seem, I like Feather blades in my Merkur 34C slant bar.
I don't know what kind of mojo happens, but they work for me in that razor.
As far as Japanese blades go, I find the Kai blades to be just as sharp, but much smoother.

The Spectre So far the Feathers seem to be the sharpest I've ever tried and I had to shave with real caution this time. I like not having to worry about cutting myself.. lol👍👍

I also put a Feather in my 1970 long handled black beauty (set to number 3)for my Sunday shave. I am not a big fan as they are sharp but not smooth at all. My go to blade is the Gillette Silver Blue. No cuts though. I have a tendency to nick in the same spot on the neck that you do but the opposite side. What I do now in order to avoid the nick is not to come straight down with the razor to the base of the neck. I come down straight until I am adjacent to the Adams Apple and turn the razor slightly to the out side of the neck. I do that on both sides and this eliminated the nicking for me. Your mileage may vary....

Last time I used a Feather blade, I cut myself about 3 times. They are a little too sharp to me so I don't shave with them very often.

Good one man. The first time i used feathers they just shredded me but tried them again recently and now i love them. I'm only about two months into wet shaving. I'm finding it's mostly about pairing the right razor with the right blade. I currently have an edwin jagger de89 and a west coast shaving midnight collection open comb razor with a much heavier handle. I bought a 100 pack of personna blues and a variety pack of blades. The personnas are alright over all but some of the other blades work better depending on the razor. The feathers work great in my edwin jagger. Great videos man, they're teaching me a lot.

I'm using Feather blades with my 1958 non adjustable Gillette Fat Boy. First time i ever used a DE safety razor with that blade I got bad razor burn and cut the sides of my neck good. Was more gentle with my second shave this Monday and had less cuts. Bought sampler pack of 10 Astra Stainless and Platinum DE blades to see if those don't cut me up.

Hows my favourite youtuber doing ? anyway , thanks for the call out ken , see - a true professional , you managed the feather without a nick - awesome stuff matey . Its funny the 34c is one of those razor , that seems mild - but the blade can determine its aggressiveness . Like i say , i tried a feather in my goto att s1 - but only this weekend , after a second use - it was the worse shave i have had since i started wet shaving , just a dull shave in general , lots of missed whiskers - to top it all it was for a job interview.. ( i really dont like feather blades for me they are over hyped ) .... go figure . Your wife's choice on the bowl works for me , reckon cherry blossom would look good on a bowl to be honest . For me….the Feather blade works great in my 6C on plate R3. You have to be careful, not hurry, and respect it’s sharpness. Gives a beautiful BBS shave…and 6+ shaves per blade. It definitely is more of a challenge than shaving zip-zop with one of my trusty “Voshkie” blades.

I don’t think the blade causes the cuts and nicks, it’s more the razor & technique. The Henson Razors are the most forgiving and provide probably the best shaves in my opinion

My razor is a Fatboy set at 4 first pass, and 2 second pass, using Alumn Block after a rinse. Love that scuttle. Feather Blades? Yeah, I've got a couple of packs of them. I see videos and read Forum Posts about how "sharp, scary and dangerous" they are, and as a consequence, have yet to decide which razor will be the best choice to try one in. Voskhods and BIC Platinums are plenty sharp, so I don't know of any unforseen advantages to using a Feather. Maybe I'll wait until New Years' Day ...
If it's some REALLY SERIOUS burn you seek, then dissolve some menthol crystals in Vodka, then blend in a few drops of Neutrogena Post Shaving Balm. It'll moisturize your skin, while making you want to dress up the wife in her leathers, grab her whip, and ... well nevermind ....

After watching your videos I started doing a 2 pass clean up as I shave everyday and it has helped a lot with cutting down razor burn or any irritation.
