A Story About our Disastrous Valentine’s Day in Patagonia | Cerro Castillo's National Park (Chile)

We might be the worst travelers ever. This is a story about a Valentine’s Day adventure gone wrong, in Chilean Patagonia. While living in Coyhaique, some new Swiss friends invited us to join them in Cerro Castillo for an epic weekend of hiking. This small village in Chile is home to a stunning national park, and unpredictable logistic challenges.
This 2 day, easy trip turned into a sunburnt disaster almost as soon as it began. At least the views were beautiful! This less visited park in Patagonia is a must visit for a peaceful experience…just, plan a little better than we did. Pack snacks, and maybe a tent!
