Wow, what a cool response to this thread. I didn't even know that fantasy cards existed. Makes sense. The Frazetta/Molly Hatchett connection was the first one that came to mind. That background music was really interesting and appropriate. Thanks for showing the records and the artwork!
I knew you would have some cool and usual art work that no one else would have Chris. Great way to show some of these albums. I like the tie in and even more I,prestige you could do it Chris
Chris, fun stuff! I enjoyed the John Lennon piece immensely, thanks for choosing that one, to play. Fred Rzewski's ''Sonata For Piano'' quotes some popular tunes, the other John Lennon's, ''Give Peace A Chance'', is one of them. I discovered Michael Whelan in 1978, when I bought the book, ''Tomorrow and Beyond: Masterpieces Of Sci- Fi Art'', edited by Ian Summers. That book remains one of my favorite treasure troves of Fantasy art. I still confuse the work of Frazetta with that of Boris Vallejo. Julie Bell, a former competitive bodybuilder, is married to Vallejo. Julie is also an artist, she did the cover of Meat Loaf's ''Bat Out Of Hell, volume 3''.
Thanks Michael. I do have some Julie Bell cards. She has a very similar style to Boris. I find Frazetta's work earthier, but that may just be his color palette. Boris is too slick or posed sometimes. Jeff Jones is another artist that I really like, closer to Frazetta than Boris, but I don't have any album covers by him. He might be in your sci-fi book?
I have that Sahm album, but didn't realize Sheldon had done it. I didn't know that Hildebrandt did Mob Rules, along with some of the other examples you'd shown. I do have some of those art cards, however, like the Hildebrandt's and Frazetta's etc.
Yes, the mid nineties were the golden age of art cards. I used to go to card shows at the local outlet mall. Boris Vallejo was another good artist for fantasy type album covers. I think somebody showed. an Ozzy Osborne cover by Boris.
@@juliusjabbar1011 Yah, I was thinking about responding, maybe today or later this week. I have some stuff pulled just haven't made the vid yet. :) Thanks for thinking of me yo. Hope things are well.
Hi Christopher . This was a great response to my video I really enjoyed seeing those cards it looks like you have a pretty impressive collection. I’ve added you to the playlist I’ve created on my channel many thanks Christopher. 👍

Outstanding and glorious backround music Chris, would be nice to find. Beck-Fast, lol. Cheers.

The mid 1990’s seemed to be the peak for fantasy art cards

@@christopherkibler511 Chris, that book is currently in storage at my brother's house. I'm surprised that you don't own that book.
Hi Chris - Great approach to this thread. That Alice Cooper cover is freaky!
Thanks Brian. Baggy Hi-fi set a good example.
Wow!!! Amazing Chris! Light it up✊🏻🔥....morning to ya👋🏻☕️
Thanks Lis. I am a little slow getting to this thread. I have seen some good ones.
Those Yardbirds covers are great. Unusual Paul Collins. Wish I'd hung on to that Doug Sahm because whenever I see it now it's beat. Cheers!
Yes, mine is somewhat worn.
