I LOVE the PoT ability system, I LOVE not having any abilities as a juvenile, I LOVE being forced to do chores to unlock my abilities, I LOVE not being able to use 70% of my dino's abilities, I LOVE when a dinosaur can completely change its niche and play style because of one ability, I LOVE being ran down by something 4 times bigger than me because it equipped a speed hide, I LOVE every dinosaur having a tail attack!!!
PoT is an MMO game, alot of passive abilities have drawbacks, like speed hides reducing turn rates and such.. Niche changing is because the game is an MMO and you can change your playstyle based off what you like most of the time
