The one decent thing about this quest is that you can do it at damn near any time in playthrough. There's no point where it becomes unviable. The only thing your likely to miss out on is the Pest threads incantation, as I'm still not sure what causes Gowry to ask you about rot incants.
You can actually get it at any time now, once you get his Bell Bearing at the end of the quest you can just buy it regardless of if you met the requirements for him to give it to you.
@@nikolaosboukouvalas449 after realizing it can be spammed against other players in a way that was no doubt only intended to be used against Godfrey, i think that one should be harder to get O_o
You can't forget, that to reach Gowry and Millicent you need to enter Caelid and defeat Commander O' Neill. The second is cheeseable but can be hard on the first blind run, and Caelid itself is an entire mess you want to fuck around as little as possible (?)

Don't forget the needle meaning fighting literally rot lake Niall in the area you probably only entered because of that one god damn chest in Liurnia, and you're like 40 levels under even attempting to fight him, but felt like trying for 2 hours anyways.
Ranni's questline isn't even that hard outside of Astel and Radahn. I actually love how you can complete the whole thing before you even set foot in Leyndell (if you don't want the Dung Eater puppet, that is.)

I kinda get the feeling this quest was meant to be different originally and she would be Malenia herself and probably be more important narratively considering that if it wasn't for how heavily advertised Malenia was as part of Elden Ring's media content she'd be treated as a secret boss. The changes to the quest do have that last minute swap out feel imo.

I found rannis out by myself through sheer dumb luck of talking to Iji and him telling me she went from Renna's rise, to which I said, aight, bet, and went to, only to find a cute doll then talk to it to anger my bb.

Theres one LMSH equivalent but its a strength build known as the jar-barian uses jars only excluding the weapon which is the starfist but minus that its an exact strength-based duplicate of LMSH's build

Playthrough 1: Help her and complete the questline
Playthrough 2: Kill her at Windmill village to get the other talisman early
You miss out on dmg, get the sword insignia and kill her. On second playthrough do her questline for the winged sword insignia.
