Sad to see the Marea go - but it has many adventures still to come, I imagine! Love the stories about your Dad and the difficulties back in those days!
Dad's first car was an old maroon Riley 4/68 3583XI, doubt they'd have one. Bought off a driveway on Lisburn Rd. That was followed by Consul Cortina. 5909KZ. Delorean, my mate from Maghaberry worked there from day 1 to the finish😢. He was on the gullwing doors. Signed his name on the inner skin of every door he made.
The museum is all about nostalgia. My first Dad car memory is a ‘71 Cortina mk3. Also (no pun intended) now I understand why I keep seeing you on instagram driving the Marea in the States. 😅
Think the Trafficators were electro magnetic in operation and the split screen, the split bumper and ridge down the bonnet is because the Morris minor was altered when it first came out to make it wider if I'm not mistaken ? 😊
Why does everyone hate so much on the PRV engine?! It wasn’t meant to propel rocket ships, but it ended up in a a few emblematic “Weird Cars” of the era. 970,315 units were produced in total according to Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V6_PRV_engine#PRV_powered_automobiles
@@alsodriven fair comment, but you know, it only ever had to get to 88 mph! 🤪 😂 Not sure the DMC was ever really designed as a “sports” car or intended to break any records with a 3-speed automatic (of course there was a manual, but for the 🇺🇸 market?!) 🤔 More of GT grand tourer?
Love the anecdotes
Were strange times

Wow... Wonder how many signatures are still out there ?
Delighted to be able to help with the Marea and enjoy a delightful visit these past couple days. 🚙
Jim you're a star and a gentleman!
Loved the family connection to the cars.
@@Stephenb033 We are all just stories in the end so always tell the good ones ❤️
My Dad's first car was a 1966 Vauxhall Victor estate (Canadian market version). Very cool that your father worked at the DeLorean factory.
@@VincentLander think half of Northern Ireland had something to do with Delorean at some point lol
That was quite a lot of interesting Norn Iron “troubles” commentary… wild times! 🤯
You forget so easily

Hopefully have the video together of the Marea here in New England for this Friday
Well nice to see Andrea on the channel.
Was lovely to have her over

Yes! You're right!!!
You have a better memory than us!!!
The Mercury owner was definitely a trip to meet, that was the first time I realized I was a bit "exotic" around there. 😂
@@TinyScorpion44 you're always exotic!
@@alsodriven You're probably not wrong, considering I'm a goth😂
Jim do you remember the black taxis used as buses in the troubles?
Oh god yeah

It's not a bad engine, it's just a bad choice for a gull-wing sports car

@ciaran_socal they marketed it against the 911 in the US
