Once again, really nicely put together. Those whoops just West of Kelso Cima Rd are possibly the longest stretch I've ever driven. Fairly scratchy for a big vehicle too. I had my ex-brother in laws Sequoia and I had to compound the clear coat before I gave it back to him thanks to that trail. It wouldn't have been good in that wind, but Mid Hills Campground can be pretty nice with long views and many of the sites spaced enough to give you privacy. We missed the penny tree - so another trip. If you go back, hit the Kelso Depot and Kelso Dunes - they're worthy of a stop Did you go up 15 & see the Ivanpah Solar Farm - it's otherworldly. There are a couple more out there but Ivanpah is one of the biggest.
Questions about our experience along the Mojave Road? Post 'em here and we'll do our best to answer them. Overall, this was an EXCELLENT overland trail, and we'll need to do it again to explore all the things we missed on this trip!
@Adam C right on! I bet November is a good time of year to go. We did this trip back in May, and it was passable then. Not sure what the current conditions are....I know the entire Mojave Preserve was closed for a while due to heavy rains
At the end is the Ávi casino. It’s run by the natives (mojaves) and I haven’t eaten there since before the prepandemic but it had, (IMO) the absolute best buffet on the river.
I think Brad from Trailrecon would appreciate that coffee sequence :) Cant wait to try this route! Thanks for sharing.
Hahah. Got to sneak in the occasional coffee montage! Mojave Road is a blast, 100% worth it
@@WheretoNextOverland You're video will definitely help me when I venture out! Looks like a blast.
Just watched part 1 and part 2. Entertaining and well put together. Great job!
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed!

We didn't get to check out the solar farm due to time, but we'll have to check it out next time (and there will be a next time!)
@@WheretoNextOverland It's just a drive-by but it's quite something to see if you haven't seen a solar farm before

Ahh the best! Love the coffee ASMR and of course… dick jokes 😂 😂 😂
Is it even an "overlanding" video if there's no coffee montage??? Haha

Well then, we're gonna have to remember that for the next time we're down there. Sounds amazing
Perhaps not having headlamps added to the experience.
I think I would agree. Especially with the lone ray of natural light coming into the lava tube. It was quite the sight
