"The Way" Translation (Herbert Grönemeyer - Der Weg)

- I dedicate this video, my first (more or less) professionally recorded song translation, to my late and beloved father.
I chose this song because Herbert Grönemeyer is an extraordinary artist and because it is such a powerful and thoughtful, sad but powerful ballad.
The music was entirely recorded by me. Please let me know if you have any wishes or suggestions for my next English translation: a German song you always wanted to know the lyrics of, or maybe a song by a German artist who needs more attention, also in the English speaking part of our beautiful world.

Pooh, this deserves way more views :_( you translated, adapted and sang it beautifully. Grönemeyers song always tears me up and so did this.

@@MeereeFox Das wird bestimmt ein Hit. Das Problem ist jedoch - Die Akkord Endungen stimmen nicht überein. Herbert würde weinen vor Rührung. Ich auch. Es ist was anderes und ist wie maßgeschneidert.

Wenn ich nur musikalisch wäre, ich hätte ähnliches damals gerne für meine Mutter gemacht. Sie starb 2004 und ich habe leider keine Bewegtbilder von Ihr da sie immer selber gefilmt hatte.

I've seen many literal translations, however, this somewhat figurative translation is exceptionally good. I would encourage you to re-record it and give it some more strings in the verses and let yourself go. Herbert sings it very subtly, I know, but your voice is not his. Use your power. The spots you chose to harmonise are stunning. Yet I sense there is more depth in you that you can lend to this wonderful piece.
