as a zergling expert I can attest that they do have 6inch retractable talons on their head arms. Very similar to velociraptor. They have rows of dagger sharp teeth like great whites. And they have webbed feet like a duck so they are actually really good swimmers.

They have an awful lot of muzzle flash for magnetic weapons 🧐
40% speed translates to more than 40% better, I know it's vague and different per scenario, but being that much faster can be argued to maybe double their value in certain metrics, quadruple in others and maybe unnoticeable in damage per hit, because it's being paired in fights vs other units there's are so many things being observed, but allowing them to reach enemies, reinforce deads one, rotate better around units, cross maps that have planned times to cross controlled by creators, etc. It's definitely a complicated metric to measure, but the same sort of thing occurs for zealots/vultures also.

Yeah, my favorite match type is ZvT and my favorite movie is Starship Troopers, that's consistent. ^^
As for the comparison between W40k space marines and Starcraft marines, they've nothing in common except maybe the general look of them if you look at them from far away.
Space Marines are super hyper duper commando genetically modified, they're perfect soldiers.
Terran marines are space cow-boys drinking beer.
Now, as you probably already know, Warcraft 1 was originally Blizzard wanting to make a Warhammer game and Games Workshop refusing for whatever reason to agree to share their licence with them. It won't be surprising that, after the success of Warcraft 1 and 2, some guy at Blizzard said "hey, now let's do a ripp off of W40k !" And maybe it was the original idea behind Starcraft. But even if it is what might have happen, Warcraft 1 is not Warhammer and Starcraft is not W40k, both are good in their own way.
What blurrs the line even more is that a few people who worked for GW did work with Blizzard on Starcraft 2: Mark Gibbons doing artowrks like the logos for the 3 races or Andy Chambers being the creative director for Wings of Liberty.
I usually watch C&C matches from Sybert, but change to watch SC matches is also good.

No, the Starcraft terran marines are more like the marines in Aliens, you can see it pretty clearly in the cinematics the way they are fighting lings and hydras with their ammo counter dropping down. While Starcraft does rip off Warhammer quite a bit I'd say that's one of the bigger differences, how flimsy the terran marines are compared to 40k space marines.
For the algorithm
I think a space marine could probably kill 10 marines out in the open with no cover or anything, but something like 100 in a guerilla fight. A primarch, literally any of them, could easily wipe a Terran base and max capacity of marines. Starcraft is loved for the game itself, the masterpiece much akin to chess, not the story. Over time I just decided to ignore it, its a watered down version of a bunch of 40k content, but it's good enough to ignore that and enjoy the game. Can't compare superhuman with like 30 extra super organs and psychic potential/resistance to conscripted convicts in screwed on armor lol
Starcraft space marines are very strong. They have neural implants and are stimmed up, they aren’t normal humans. Armor and weapons are very advanced. mutalisks are big flyers, not small, that spit spikes and acid that can melt and tear thru anything…. Oh and Starcraft marines > Halo Spartans…. 😉
