Plant collector here: your Venus flytrap needs specific care to thrive. 1) water with distilled water. Carnivorous plants are sensitive to the additives in our tap water. 2) good light. They want strong light (west or south window sill if you're in the northern hemisphere). Growlights work too. 3) the substrate should be well-draining and you should not let it dry out. I prefer to use spagnum moss with a lot of perlite in it, but there are other mixes that you can find online. 4) Don't feed it hamburger (seriously, this is not good for it) and don't make the traps close just for fun. Small insects like fruitflies or ants work well. I often injure one and then place it in the trap; they do need to wiggle to trigger the trap to close. 5) don't fertilize it. 6) it likely needs a dormancy period. This means the leaves will die back but not that the root system is dead. Keep it hydrated (but not soggy) until it starts to grow again.

also those are sswamppppp plants sdo they thrive in very humid soil... but never from the top, the best is putting the plant and keep the plate with water in it at all time so the plant can feed itself whenever it needs

It seems your Venus fly trap isn’t catching enough flies to stay healthy and nourished. If you do get another in the future, what I always did and it worked, I fed it tiny pieces of raw hamburger. This really helps keep the plant nutritious and thriving when it can’t catch dinner on its own!! Great video, a lot of fun! Thanks and good luck 🍀👍🏼

Apparently the watering/care directions the plants come with are guaranteed to kill the plant so people will buy more, so you have to look up actual care instructions online.
I had a venus fly trap last year and whenever I found a bug around my house - usually ants - I would kill it and feed it to venus. That worked pretty well for my plant.
I live in Australia in summer that won't be a problem for me lol

I have one at home that at this point is 20 (what the hell 🙀) years old. Loved it for my doll clothes. They aren‘t supposed to work just to play pretend.

With the flytrap: As a florist I dread these. Parents usually ask for them for their children - I explain that they can literally die from stress; People tend to stick things or their fingers to activate the trap, pretty much making it starve itself to death or stress it to death by making it close so many times without any catch.
They also can not take water with any calcium in it, so basically destilled or rain water. They are sensitive plants that are not in their ideal environment to flourish.. And expensive. 😂
For the mini washer machine The tube is supposed to be in a bowl Collect the water so you can refill it so it makes it more clean if that makes sense

I think she is legally obligated to disclose that information. Anytime a youtuber have a code/coupon code that they will make money off when you use it, it legally has to be disclosed to the viewers.

I got a grant from my student union to make handmade jewellery, and I'm probably going to try to replicate that braided-style ring since it seems to be a pretty popular style that has a lot of tutorials available. I don't wear rings (I am sensitive) but my housemate does, so I'm using them as my guinea pig.

There's a chance the people making those videos are not actually making the rings themselves but buying cheap from overseas. $9 for a ring that took at least an hour to make when you also have to ship, photograph, update a website etc

That tiny washing machine is seriously freaking adorable 😍 gets me every time! That said get one of those sock bag things (forgive my brain fart there) & stick your beauty blenders in a normal load when you do the wash, just don't dry them. Seriously make sure they don't go through the dryer, it doesn't ruin them but they come out covered in all the fuzzy crap that you normally find in the lint trap. Also give them a good rinse & squeeze a few times before using.

As a member of a family that owes a nursery (shout out to ‘The Greenhouse Florist & Nursery’ in Oak Harbor,WA) I have some tips for you regarding your vines fly trap.
1. 6-8 hours of sunlight a day (use a grow light if not able to get natural light)
2. Rainwater or distilled water only ( they don’t like the chemicals or mineral’s in most tap water)
3. Keep there “feet” ( bottom of the pot) submerged in water at all times
4. Each pincher only opens 3-5 times before it dies back
5. When it dies back it will look dead. A lot of the time it’s just dormant & will get new growth if conditions are right
Good luck if you decide to try again, & hope these tips help! ☺️

I had/might have one of these from a fair of some sort, and it took a little bit to figure out because of all the buttons and drains. I would recommend putting the drain inside a bowl! Love your videos Hope!❤
