Been following you for years now, would like to thank you for all the educational video that have helped massively thought my apprenticeship, got 6 months till my skills test and I’m going to smash it, you’re a legend boss🤙🏻🤙🏻
My dad was a bricklayer in the states for over 50 years. Hardest working man I’ve ever known. In my younger years he would take me to work with him and I’d mix the mud by hand and bring it to him along with bringing him the bricks. In all those younger years I’ve never seen him do some of the things that you do. On top of that, sorry to say I can’t understand half of the things you say and do. Must be an American😅 thing. What’s great though is I enjoy the hell out of your work ethic and the work you do. I’ll figure it out one of these days. Great job. You make the profession great.
Hi, I’m 15 and I dream of being a professional bricklayer when I’m older, my dad and grandad did it and i want to do it too, it is a dream job and i have learnt stuff already from watching you, I don’t know who i would be watching bricklayer wise without you.
Ive been a bricklayer since 2002 and I wouldn't describe it as a dream come true after doing it for 22 years sometimes it feels more like a nightmare and if your dad is a bricklayer why haven't you spent any time working with him? Your dream job is definitely attainable there aren't too many teenagers whose dream is to be a bricklayer good luck and the younger you start the better
It’s easy to be a bricky, it’s hard to be a master bricky. Stick at it nd don’t give up, my motto is every brick I put down I try to make it the best layed brick as possible, don’t worry about speed that will come with time. Best advice is try get a in with a good squad of old brickys and don’t stop asking questions, learn as much as you can and never stop. This is an age old trade and we can’t let the standards drop. All the best lad🏴🇬🇧
Hi Charlie love watching your videos I started bricklaying on site in 1969 and our hod carriers would be laughing at your hoddies our guy ran up and down ladders all day when on the chamber lift 12 bricks in hod and 4 blocks on shoulder keeping 2 brickies going
Great work and more credit to you taking your time! If someone’s paying good money for a gaff and shelling out for decent stone, they want a top job doing eh!
That stone work around the openings is a nice touch, easy value add. What goes on the corners of the house where the concrete blocks are? They going to clad it to look like stone?
Charlie says do it wright, love watching the vids young man, Mr staimer loves your vids has well, can you help to build his gerry build house for him 😂😂😂.
I did a job with that just make sure you jam a stick between them top and bottom with a bit of insulation either side so you can take it out without chipping
Great work! Do you tie in the stone columns with the brickwork at all or do you leave them as 2 separate structures sort of thing? And if you do tie them what do you use?
Charles what’s going on how family is good mate. That looks lovely gear building with must be good building sand. Sand up here is shit most of the time.
Have you a video where a bricklayer's labourer goes through a day's work with you. i want to fast track myself into bricklaying and don't want to be a complete fool when I come onto site in my first week. would love to follow his work flow , mistakes, expectations. Or could you please put me onto a video that shows this. would really be appreciated mate. Have watched many of your video's and have huge respect for you dedication, knowledge and have learned so much already..."theoretcally"

Your methods are good and clearly know how to make money but all basic really how would you fair on detailed work ie herringbone , bullseyes, corbels, etc can we see some of your examples here I think not
@@poaldavidson4 you’d look in a nash book and build it as per drawing. Not hard. Once you know how to lay a brick all you need to know is the method of how to build it. Herringbone, corbels and bullseye aren’t exactly hard either. I built a bullseye in 3rd year at college, I’m 20 years in I’m sure I’d manage
So much cast stone is ruined by bricklayers handling it like bricks and not treating it like a stonemason would. The beds and perps should be treated differently than a brick joint or bed. The most important thing is not to get the brick mortar over the cast stone as it will stain.
Nice and clean tidy all round as per normal - good to see my friend 🍀👍

Just a question are the stone jambs free standing or are they tied in to the brick work with ties

The red carpenter pencil is the darkest Charley 🔨
Very nice. Love those bricks❤
Could they not spend the extra tenner a sill and get real stone instead of crappy artstone ,always spoils a good job
How do the stone jambs stay in place? I didn't see any brick ties or anything. Seems like they'd fall off once the clamps get removed
Lovely job as per would have liked some english or flemish bond with those stone pieces
Those formers not supposed to have toggle ties in or ?
