- The First Lady doesn’t have an official job, given that she isn’t paid anything for her time in the White House. However, she sure has a lot of unofficial duties. There are countless things that the First Lady is expected to take on during her husband’s administration, and there are all kinds of rules that she has to follow, too.
For instance, just like the President, the First Lady is not allowed to drive or open any windows. She's also responsible for the White House china pattern, the annual Easter Egg Roll, and more. Let’s take a look at some super weird rules that the First Lady has to follow.

Oh heck no! I enjoy sitting out on my deck and opening all my windows on nice days. I feed some of the local wildlife as well. And I have to have the window cracked open in the car. I wouldn't trade any of those things for First Lady "privilege".

Not true, she was quit to respond to a report when they called her Mrs. Trump. The reporter mentioned the wife before her and she quickly stated she is the "First Lady".

That’s VERY uninformed. She had it brought back to Jackie’s original design. They had to move a couple trees that will be returned when they are healthier. You aren’t even aware you’re programmed to hate our President by the corporate Democrat-controlled media! 🤦♀️
@Gwen, your post prompted me to look up Snopes and I learned that the crab apple trees that she removed were not the original ones planted by Jackie Kennedy. Those trees have been replaced 3 times over the decades. The reason is because it’s a rose garden and roses need sunlight but the trees grow so big they cast too much shade. Melania returned the garden to its original design, she added walk ways to accommodate wheelchairs, and the trees are being safely kept in the greenhouse for transplanting when the weather is right. I am a Biden supporter and I applaud her changes.

@Carrie Murphy No she had not destroyed the Rose garden. The photo being shown was put out when the Rose garden was not in full bloom and another was put out before the update was completed.

I get their lives are restricted, it is a role in itself. The taped recording between Melania and her bestie give you an idea toward how Melania feels about decorating the WH or Christmas. I don't care how much Melania did or any first lady does and it isn't our business. I do appreciate the health/nutrition changes made by Michelle Obama and in that area it was just a start. Lack of nutritional education and unhealthy food contributes to so many other issues and impacts the economy of the country. What the President does, entirely different story, he is working for the people.
What I despise is Donald and Melania destroying much of the landscape and stealing with impunity.
One of the rules should be: legal citizen and not to have shown your “secrets” to the world

I'll never forgive Melania for destroying the Jackie Kennedy Rose Garden. It was stunning. She tore it up and replaced it with all white flowers, sod, a hedge & cement walkway just in time for her RNC entrance. 60 years of history removed for an unethical, unconstitutional, partisan, political, campaign event at the American people's house. She'll be gone soon. I look forward to having a 1st lady who honors our traditions & truly enjoys the job. Melania recently was caught on tape saying F&$# Christmas! She hates having to decorate the WH. Ironically after bashing the Obama's about canceling "Merry Christmas"? Which anyone can see the Obama's filmed a Christmas greeting for the American people for 8 years!! It's something I've looked forward to since the Kennedy's when I was in elementary school!!!

I don’t know where that info came from. Melania had the historic garden redone to the way Jackie had it designed. As usual when landscaping is being updated, it appears to look worse before it looks better. They had to remove a couple trees but will be brought back when healthier.
