This is so eye-opening and really puts into perspective that we need to activate our humanity and engineering to find a humane solution. May we see a free DRC in our lifetime❤
why humane when it can be cheap?
We Will never:(
For anyone interested in learning more about this, I highly recommend reading a book called “Cobalt Red: How The Blood of The Congo Powers Our Lives” by Siddharth Kara (2023)
If we the people really came together despite our differences in opinions we can really stop this
but you wont
It is not just the tech companies profiting here. It is also our governments too. A finished piece of tech we just love to own and use also attracts things like VAT, GST and sales taxes.
This really made me think about my phone, computer, etc., and how F’d up it is that we don’t do anything to resolve this and it’s SUCH an essential part of our lives! We need to do something!
nobody will do anything unfortunately, because there's no money in helping them.
Modern society collapses before these children ever see any help; that's just the sad reality of the world we live in.
Question - what efforts are being made to make the Chinese - who per this video own the vast majority of mining - pay workers?
This country should surpass England and Saudi 🇸🇦
Everybody commenting from their phones like..🧑🦯➡️👩🦯
I'm sure none of that child mined cobalt is used to desulfurize gasoline and diesel. Oh... wait...
NO WESTERN DISCUSSIONS ABOUT CHILD LABOUR ANYMORE.
Why you showing tesla in the video they didnt make a pattern for anyone to use that lets you create a battery that uses zero cobalt? 🤔
The Congos was taken over by Belgium King Leopold II in 1885 to 1920, and claimed it as his own personal property. Belgium did not take control of the Congos in 1908, that's inaccurate!
An impossible choice ???? Must be a cultural thing or somthing that yur sad when they die but force them to work that dangerous job!what happened to parents doing wverything for there kids not the other way around what about being self suffient growi g your own veg hunting yur own food that has to be easisrr and leas dangerous

There is a lot to say to correct the vodeo.
If you talk about minerals and Resources Africa is the Superpower.
Pin my comment.
If you talk about governance and politics they are a non-power.
They have the resource advantage but the human disadvantage.
@@jonathan2847 human disadvantage?
US trained military officers have taken part in 11Coups in West Africa since 2008.
Oh course Arabs know that since they invaded and explotated Africans to the Europeans
This actually makes my phone and electronics feel more badass
Jesus christ. 😂
That’s gross to say tbh these are kids
Thank you kids, my lithium batteries are holding a great charge. Keep it up. 👍

Africa is the richest nation in the world as of minerals diamonds, gold lithium, you name it and it’s the poorest wow maybe it’s the people there
Surely has nothing to do with the US, China, and Russia fighting over the materials...
the colonizing stole everything
so America assisinated their leader
No, maybe it's the nations that plundered the continent of Africa
