The Yamaha has factory hitch better capacitys more power better transmission better engine power steering diff lock etc But as far as 400-500 class atvs yes I would pick Honda all day. Rubicon 520 is bulletproof.
Also kinda dumb that for 2025 Honda didn’t do anything but offer less colors and only 1 boring dct deluxe color on the 520 and raised the price a couple hundred dollars.

Yes, the reliability factor is always there, but Honda without a doubt has the ability to put a reliable twin cylinder motor in an ATV. Forget the twin though, they could’ve at least made a totally different body style, added diff lock and a hitch. That atleast would’ve been good enough. I’m so glad I went with my ‘23 Kingquad 750. Incredible power, great diff lock, great suspension, and it’s still Japanese ingenuity!
I have a 2005 model. Detroit locker up front, Progressive suspension shocks all kinds stuff, but no POWER STEERING. Run away going down hill. Smoke the brakes lever to the bar. My 520 Rubicon has that. You can still shift it into reverse while going forward and stretch the internal chain, some deficiencies in oiling still exists. My cam wore out in a couple hundred miles. Newer ones still have issues as the SXS had many failures and is sold in Mexico now without warranty. So yeah it could be better. Don't let the body work fool you. It's the same machine.
Honda makes some good quality but even watching your review I can hear the disappointment on some issues (from headlight pod style, to storage, to no hitch, to transmission... Do appreciate the honesty. I Just bought a 24 rancher DCT, EPS, IRS... for the price they get after Fees, tax/ DNR registration ... many creature comforts left out on the rancher. no locker, minimal storage, steel rims with 24 inch tires. Hopefully the price was for quality because my CF moto i bought new last year is definitely keeping up on side by side expectations so far.

Honda could build a ATV with all the options the 520 rubicon has and put a more powerful engine in it and they would sell every single one they built. But they basically put different plastic on a old frame old suspension rincon and called it a rubicon 🤔thanks for your honest review of this machine I know it is what it is no one is blaming you lol and I wish Honda would read these comments and take them seriously.

They dont put a hitch on them because they suck at towing compared to a 520. My 680 Rincon would run 27mph in first gear. That equates to a rig that isn't built for towing. It is however a great trail machine!

I have a 2003 rincon first year it came out. I have been plowing my very long driveway and clearing off my pond with since day one. I live in upper Michigan, so we typically get alot of snow. I also use it for working up my 1 acre food plot several times a year for the last 21 years! It has never gave me any issues at all! It pushes snow like crazy, and pulls my 4' drag with ease. I think they get a bad rap for pulling because they are geared high. You dont need to go fast in first gear to push or pull i dont. I have a few friends that wouldn't buy one because of that,i am proof it will do it just fine and hold up for 20 plus years.

Going to have to look for a different mfg. When I was 20 years younger... no power steering no big deal... at 68 years ikd, with a 700 lb+ bike... i would like it. Torque numbers aren't really discussed across the board. HP is what everyone usually talks about and shows off. Honda doesn't talk about it much, wonder why... Anyway, Honda usually has HP listed on the certificate of origin. Thanks for watching!
Metal gears mean ultra reliability, compared to belt driven atvs. This is mainly a ranch atv , fine with me, I like it except the halogens on the bottom and the led on top, excellent price point , $400 cheaper than belt driven grizzly . But honestly I’d go with the Suzuki 750 base is $9699. But still belt driven, therefore Honda takes the win for metal gearing which is far more reliable compared to belt driven atvs. I’ll be using it for work around the farm and making new trails .not pleasure like the can am/polaris enthusiasts which are all belt driven, thanks

Their atvs work fine for most use cases anyway. Be glad they still have gas motors in them.

@@claytonbrown1552 that's not correct. Just because it's selectable doesn't mean it has low range. A sub trans with low range completely changes the torque output. Not the same thing. Idk why some people say just because you can put stuff in "1st" gear that it has a low range. Go check out a auto rubicon 520 and you will see.

Hi, I have a 2005 rincon, carb, drum front brakes, and I’m due for a new quad. I was waiting for the big honda to replace my old girl. But seeing this garbage is so disappointed. You just lost my business. Brp 700 is the way I’m going. Almost a extra 15 ponies power steering , and better tech. Sorry honda, go back to the drawing board
