I think I remember this job from another video when you dug the basement. It was and still is a challenging site. Looks like colonie sand.

Finally another guy who on UA-cam who agrees with not digging accross utilities dig with them when possible when spotting etc. I do directional drilling and gas work we try to dig with the utilities at all time that way you can get right on top of them with less risk of ripping right threw them. I get into so many debates with people on UA-cam and on jobs. Great videos

Excellent vid Mikey! I just watched Shawn at Gate City Foundation Drainage YT channel, he was catching some downspouts with 6" pipe, lots of Y-pieces. Its a whole different ball game with 6" pipe,. Using 4" pipe is easy. Shawn had 3 guys wrestling the Y-joints in place before the glue set.
Most people would be lost doing that job. But you are doing it on your own Mike, that is what is impressive!

Expose your stub and figure a grade with your slope laser. Rise/run times 100. Then just dig sideways at the house where it’s the shallowest. I do sewer and water work in Minnesota and most sanitary services are over 9’ deep

Such easy digging,,,here in the UK,,Derbyshire to be precise,,,you can't dig down more than 6 inches without hitting solid limestone...But it does make for fantastic drainage,,,then there's the clay.......

Hello Mike, first time seeing your channel I think. question do you need a plumbing license in your state to do the plumbing side of your work. You do in my state. They make plumbers carry both masters and journeyman. And one has to be on site if work is being done. I have HVAC and we only need a journeyman license. Master license is only for permits and insurance. Great video

It amazes me how different your area is compared to mine. KY. 4 inch sch 40 is what we use. 4 inch keeps the waste in water suspension to the main sewer line. And we must use a test Tee at the lateral and a 2 way Tee at the house. And you must be a Master Plumber to install. And inspector smoke test line

Mike, you ever consider a 4 or 5 foot concrete pinch bar for seating your pipe? Its always been our standard tool for seating 6" and up. Shovel just wont cut it alot of times, kicking it just hurts too much if its being stubborn lol 😆 As soon as I saw the sand I thought thats gonna get messy fast, it doesn't hold together and if deep, its dangerous, but you knew that as soon as the bucket came up with the first scoop. Ah well.

@@DIRT-BOSS they are great tools, just gotta watch them in a trench, if it tips over and lands flat, they can disappear into your trench bedding as they can sink right into the sand, then you get to play find the pinch bar. It's more common if there are a bunch of guys laying pipe, not just you. As the guy who bought it, you ain't losing it, workers..not so much. Hope it works good for you.
